You have got to be kidding!
Never heard of Paul Sironen?
Balmain legend
Played for New South Wales and Australia.
How can you even possibly support tigers and not have heard of him.

Hahahahahahaha, you must have been one of the 15 people who turned up at the last Campbeltown game, last time I checked it said WESTS Tigers, not "let's rehash the same old lame ass fight about who is represented more argument" . Supporters of both clubs are lucky to have a team at all to support. Pull your head in

Last time I checked I said I'd prefer ex WESTS TIGERS players interviewed so we grow as our own entity.

Looks like I hit a nerve.

15 at the last cambo game….I see

I dont mind hearing from old Balmain Wests blokes _occasionally_, but its been OTT lately.

Lol hit a nerve indeed. Making wise cracks at your own teams home game crowd figures shows a lot of intelligence :unamused:

I cant find a single reference to Balmain in this thread until your mention.

Likewise, but maybe he's talking about the first four words and the fact that Siro played for Balmain..i don't think a former Balmain player talking about Wests Tigers should be construed as 'Balmainification'.

I agree ,why do some people continue with this decisive line of thought ?

Maybe we can work out a rotating roster of ex- Balmain/Magpies players we should get to comment?

"Hey look Sirro Sr's at training, lets have a chat and get his thoughts….oh wait, its not his turn. Damn"

people on here are blowing things ridiculously out of proportion, as far as i remember since '05 i havent heard sirro give his opinion until curtis came along.

i never knew balmain/magpies and tbh anytime i hear an ex balmain/magpie player give their opinion, i just cringe inside, mainly coz idc about their opinions. sure, i have respect for them but i hate the fact that anytime we are in the media limelight those people are asked to give opinions.

saying that, the only WT "legends" i really know are skando, whatuira, hodgo, prince etc. but there must be some pre 05 as well

Yea resembles your original post. If your over the Balmainification, Wests still exist in reserve grade. Growing your own identity has nothing to do with making smart ar$e remarks about one side of the venture. As you can see from my post, it's quite easy to enflame opinion by polarising one side of the argument. So whilst it's not ok for me to blow up about your Balmainification remark, it's alright to take issue with my crowd at Cambo statement. Go figure. If you can't take it, don't post crap like that in the first place

Yea real intelligent, almost as smart as making dumb ar$e remarks about the Balmainification. Jeez you guys are actually getting less intelligent the more you post!

And your smartass remark was aimed at the Wests Tigers, not one half of the JV even if you don't even realize it

Hey i'm not the one getting a kick out of telling people our side attracted '15 people' to a home game :unamused:

Hey i'm not the one getting a kick out of telling people our side attracted '15 people' to a home game. Great supporter you are

That's the point of my post. So by your logic it's ok as long as people are only paying out on the Balmain side of things. Jeeez, take a deep breath and read slowly. You might take it in. Explain to me how inks post was any different to mine, then explain how you can call him a fan but question my loyalty? As long as idiot posts like inks are published there will always be division. Thus the purpose of my post.

The difference is that you're attempt at a jibe at the 'other side' backfired because you made a joke about a WT home crowd. Ink suggested that we move on from old Balmain and Magpie players constantly being the mouthpiece when we should now be looking to move forward and use ex-WT players eg Senter, O'Neill, Skando. You on the other hand just had a cheap shot at C-town thinking that was a crack on the Magpies, when in actual fact its a crack at the WT

What's the big deal about Paul Sironen making a comment anyway?
He's a former player/legend , on the board of one the joint venture clubs and his son is currently playing first grade.
If anyone can comment about the fans getting behind the team I don't see why he can't.
Being ex Balmain is irrelevant- he hasn't been trundled out like some other former players to bag the current team.
At the moment he has good reason to have more of an interest in the club than just about anyone on here - and anything he says is usually well meaning.

It's not really Paul Sironen's fault he played for Balmain and not Wests Tigers. Is he not allowed to comment on the team he supports and which his son plays for?

This idea that former Balmain and Magpies players should never be heard from again is ridiculous…

Its been very Balmain lately though, surely you see that….and always the same old blokes.

I'd like to see us stand on our own....Humpty referred to it at the start of last year when talking about the jerseys....he wants us to be our own and get away from Wests Balmain...so much for that eh steve???

I'd like them to start asking "Former Wests Tigers star Keving McGuinness/ Darren Senter" their opinions on matters re: WTs.

Lets move forward....why keep harking back?

I'm no expert Chunky but it looks like Ink is showing dissatisfaction here at Humphreys not getting away from WESTS and Balmain like he said he was attempting to do

i started supporting WT, had no relation to balmain/magpie and i can assure you there are plenty of us, what im saying is that to me and to those people, what balmain/magpie people say, idc about that.

as for sirro, im just saying i havent heard him say anything post 05, until curtis came along.

Bingo, we should be celebrating the bright new talent, regardless of who they are. If my kid made it to first grade I would be proud as punch also. (Even if he played for the Bunnies).
