Don't know what to make of this

Over the past few years this is the competition ladder.
We are up there, more so than I expected.
Sheens made some crap decisions, but which coach doesnt.
05 set up high expectations.

i'm not surprised.
look at the f/a for the storm.holy crap
the problem with sheens was that he was going the wrong way with his squad.
just after he extended his contract he then went and got blair and left us hanging with 2 rookies at prop.
i said then we were gone.wouldn't do anything in 2012 and were rebuilding all over again.
sheens wants skill in the game.he wants an open game.when the rules are conducive to that style he has success.
when the game changes to defenses he won't conform.
his ideals about how the game should be played is his downfall.

look at the wrestle,he didn't even have the players practice wrestling.

i would like sheens to be involved with rugby league, but more as a liaison with the rules of the game.

If you look at the Tigers over the past 5 years briefly, no one would think that we have been particularly outstanding. We haven't done anything exciting or brilliant. Little flashes here & there. 2011 was particularly outstanding. But barring that, I never would have thought the average of the past 5 years leaves us in 5th..

Thing about averages is, you take out the highs and lows that everyone remembers.

Problem for Sheensie was, as the adage goes, you are only as good as your last game. The coach who got his team into the finals last year is better off than the coach who didn't.

Similarly, in tennis until about 12 months ago, Andy Murray was clearly the 4th best tennis player in the world and yet had not won any grand slams.

What it does say is other fans have had it worse for longer!

V interesting thread, kudos.

Ah very true and who does our team revolve around? and who is very inconsistent?
Co-incidence? Think not.

The way a few people go on here about this football club youd think we would be in the bottom five teams, guess what we are in the top 5 not bad at all

One commentator came up with a stat the other night saying that since Bellamy has been their coach the Storm have won something like 146 games out of the 150 that they have been leading at half-time, that is an incredible percentage of converting halftime leads into wins. Of course, what that stat fails to acknowledge is that for plenty of those same years they also had an illegally assembled team from the proceeds of deception and cheating.

Lol i was waiting for this post to take this predictable turn

If you do the crime be prepared to cop the abuse IMO, any teams' stats would be inflated if they cheated:any moron can work that out. If it upsets you so much don't bother reading it fella. Easy really…..

From day one of the JV we have been rocks and diamonds, its been about winning streaks and loosing streaks. Teams like the Storm are in the battle right to the end and most weeks come out on top, their is very little difference from a good day and a bad day, our mob on the other hand are either consistent at winning or consistent at loosing and their is a mile between the good and the bad.

That is the secret Potter has to unlock, its not so much about winning as that will come, its about every week playing to a high standard and being in the contest. Okay all teams have a bad day, but it is about keeping them to maybe two a year and none in September

Chillax, was just making an observation. No need to get so defensive

Thank Sheens for that.
The best attacking coach
Injuries to key players killed his style of play,
Its only the 2 big egos that spoilt the show in 2010 and 2011 when it counted.

Sheens had a better style of what NRL should be played like and it was the best to watch.
Due to the fact of increasing league in melbourne (code clash) the NRL went towards the boring, wrestling robotic crap we see today…. Oh and who's unbeatable at the moment.

Oh well, better to be consistently inconsistent than consistently bad I suppose, but some focus on defence during the past 10 years may well have made us a consistently good team (like Melb) - capiche?
