Im just glad the club wasn’t stupid enough to fall into that trap. The end result was obvious. Would have made Matt Ballin look like a master stroke.

I seriously think an U20 squad would give this team a run for it's money. They may not win, but they wouldn't embarass themselves.

I like Liddle and still think if he can find his running game he will be an absolute gun over the next few years with the way the game speed has headed. I will however be very surprised if Lids stays next year with Api coming, which will make "had" over "behind" been the key word.

Surely you aren’t surprised? For the life of me, I still cannot understand where the pre season enthusiasm came from. Every club around us improved their roster. This start was always on the cards. I think the reason why there has been so much talk about our performance yesterday is cos a lot of people didn’t see it coming. God knows why they didn’t but it’s the only explanation. Reality that was being ignored all summer finally hit

All the eggs are in the Hastings/Gildart basket and we can now see that the eggs are a bit whiffy.
Hastings has looked ok, but is a long way from the messiah this place pumped him up to be. All my fears about Gildart (slow, small cant defend) have come true. There is no fall back.

There was excitement around Hastings, one of the reasons because he supposedly guided a team from last to a grand final. Thats not going to happen in the NRL. He was good yesterday, probably our best, but he’s not going to move the needle. And Gildart, I copped it for doubting him in the off season, but I feel totally justified. He’s not up to it at this point in time.
