Dragons looking to sign Galloway, maybe lawerence - Rumour

None of these figures are actually announced right? The media guesses the amount once the signing is done.

I remember the big story in the sunday telegraph when it was done, these are the figures I remember

Anyway, what ever they are on if we can offload their contracts and only be up for 25% percent we would be miles ahead.

Galloway we have some very good props coming through the system, its a no brainer

Lawrence, not so sure, he did look better with Moses creating some space for him with quality selective passing, but they are both eating up big cap space that could be directed else where

Given both are contracted til beyond this year with us, how do you guys figure it saves us any money at all.

We still have to pay their salaries for the time remaining on their contracts

Well um no, if Lawrence is on 500k next season, and the dragons are happy to take him at 400k, we only pay 100k to him. A huge saving of 400k which could go to a player with some ability…

Same with Galloway. Pretty clear cut, so long as we aren't paying too much. Free up a spot in the top 25, put money towards a decent player. Win, win!

What if the Dragons are only prepared to pay 100K of His 500K salary…Having players on our books playing for other Clubs costs us in future recruitment ...

If Chris or Keith are not performing play them in State Cup giving a young bloke a go...has a two fold effect 1 they will pull their finger out and earn a recall or 2 spit the dummy and ask for a release ala Benji and we pay zero to their next club...

Gee we couldn't be that lucky could we .this post has to be a gee up.galloway and Lawrence are worth nothing to us football wise ,both are way past their best .maybe the cutters want to strengthen their playing roster

My belief is that we keep players if they signed a contract that we both agreed on, or we release them only if someone else is willing to take over the deal.

I also don't agree on back loaded contracts. I have yet to see too many good outcomes from them. They always create headaches 2-3 years later.

I think they have backloaded many deals to try and keep us competitive CQ

Hopefully in the future when we are a stronger club financially and players want to come to the Tigers we won't need to backload as many deals

Its only called stalking if you don't like it

Dragons also having a clean out must be in vogue ATM couple of players mentioned are Beale and Dylan Walker maybe a trade could be the go with Rowdy going to them. I'd think Beale and Walker would be better options than Rowdy on the form he's displayed in the last couple if seasons since his injury.

Sorry Farrell

It's Dylan Farrell Lol. Nightingale might be a decent squaddie to have.

All clubs use back loaded/front loaded deals. But yes it can come back to bite you later on. See Manly with Glenn Stewart leaving due to Watmough's back loaded contract.

It's just not possible to have everyone listed under the cap at their actual value every season. Some salaries need to be staggered in order to fit everyone in…

Are you kidding re: Nightingale? He'd have 20 games for NSW by now if he wasn't a Kiwi. He's one of the best outside backs in the NRL and insanely underrated.

Who wouldnt take Nightingale, He is a very good Player, As for Keith & Chris i think they will both see out their contracts with us.
