benjis try in that game was awesome and O'Neil crossing over at the end

The walk back from Moore park was carnage. Fights everywhere due to pumped up tiger fans. I smashed a few car side mirrors just because I was that drunk and pumped.

I’ll never forgot that and the look of devastation at the end of the roosters semi at Moore park we lost I think it was the Fulton Kennydowl Intercept. I’ve never been in a group distraught setting like that before.

Your're a bell end for smashing car side mirrors. That's nothing to be proud of

There was a collective sadness after the Warriors loss the following year that I've never forgotten. I still don't know how we lost that one.

Yep. There was one kid who was just inconsolable. It took us about 10 minutes to get out of there and he and his dad were stood by one of the exits. He didn't stop crying for that entire 10 minutes and who knows how long they stayed after we left. And that's the last top 8 football that Tiger supporter has seen since.

Apparently we have never beat broncos in Sydney

Yeah I saw that, the comment did say in a non finals game. So excepting the 2005 semi final.
Still a pretty damning statistic.

Haha

I was pissed as after that Warriors game, had my son with me so we left I was in a foul mood
The Roosters one the year before I was on my own, could sense what was coming the momentum had shifted and I knew we'd lose

Of course we drew with them in our debut game in 2000. That was an amazing effort.

But for some reason my mind keeps going back to the bloody baby broncos this week. Please, not again!!!

Really they must have forgot the 05 Semi final

How sad then how quickly and easily we remember the ONE time we beat Broncos in Sydney in 20 years. Basically our worst strike rate against any team is Broncos, but oddly enough 5/6 wins were in Brisbane.

I remember some real heart-breaking losses too. 2014 at Campbelltown comes to mind. It was my son's birthday and we were in the honour guard out on the field at the start of the game, waving the team on. It was almost perfect day for him, with a game that was a real arm wrestle, but then we fell just short, 16-14. As I said, heart-breaking...

NRL 2020: Wests Tigers players and staff cleared of COVID-19
Wests Tigers stars David Nofoaluma and Josh Aloiai are free to take on Brisbane on Friday night after being cleared of COVID-19.

Matt Logue
NCA NewsWire - JULY 17, 2020, 10:32AM

The five Wests Tigers players and coaching staff have recorded negative COVID tests, freeing players David Nofoaluma and Josh Aloiai to take on Brisbane at Leichhardt Oval on Friday night.

There were fears Nofoaluma and Aloiai could test positive and force the shutdown of the season, but they have been given the all clear.

Development player Zac Cini and coaching staff members Simon Dwyer and club legend Brett Hodgson were also cleared.

Neither Nofoaluma or Aloiai displayed any symptoms and had passed the daily temperature and symptoms checks when they arrived at training on Thursday morning.

“COVID test completed. Great stuff by PVL and @NRL taking all measures for the safety of our players and the game,” Nofoaluma tweeted.

The seven NRL players and staff who were sent for testing on Thursday all live in the Liverpool/Campbelltown area, which has emerged as a coronavirus hot spot after a cluster was identified at the Crossroads Hotel in Casula.

Tigers coach Michael Maguire is expecting COVID-19 testing to become a regular procedure as the game fights to protect itself from the virus and any potential shutdown of the competition.

“I’m sure those sorts of things will continue to happen (across the game) for a period of time. We understand the world we’re living in at the moment and we’ve got to do due diligence in making sure the game is safe and everyone is safe,” he said.

“One thing we’ve shown in the game is that we have to do what is needed to keep the game going,” he added. “We’re very fortunate that the game is up and about; Peter (V’landys) has done a great job with his team to get the game to where it is.

“It’s giving everyone something on a weekend to watch and enjoy, so we’ve got to do everything possible to keep it going.”

Nineteen players live in the Liverpool/Campbelltown area, where a coronavirus hot spot has emerged in Casula, and will be tested regularly to protect Queensland-based players from the risk of infection.

Looking through the stats, of all of our 21 losses to the Broncos, we've had a lot of close ones. The tally of margins is:

1 point - 1
2 points - 3
4 points - 2
7-12 points - 3
13+ points - 12

If we'd been able to convert a few more of those close ones, that 23% win percentage might have been up in the 30s or 40s even.

And the rort at the end of 2004, Pat Richards scores the match-winning try only for the video ref to rule 'benefit of the doubt to the defending team....no try'. Clearly remember the NRL declaring many times before that game that season that 'the benefit of the doubt will go towards the attacking team'. The TV was lucky to survive that night.
Considering just 2 or 3 weeks later we would miss out on the top 8 by 2 points makes it even more of an angry memory.
Hate the Broncos and all they represent. We will beat them by 2 points tonight (hopefully?).

Wasn't there another one in recent years where we were penalised in golden point, for markers not square when the broncos player moved off the mark?

Yes and afterwards the refs boss said it was the wrong decision

2018 RD 3

we should of won that.....

Not that I take my frustrations out on any1 but my missus n kids steered well clear of me that time...absolutely ropeable.
Was extra good though when Cheeks carved up the Broncs from 40 out to win the game at Suncorp. I bought the best seat I could at short notice...ended up smack-bang in the middle of the Broncos members. That wiped the smirks clean off their faces quick smart.

And the 'extra man on the field try' the Broncos got away with at Campbelltown. Was that in '04 as well?
14 blokes on the field, score a try, nothing to see here! Happy days!
We have been done over by the ref in Broncos matches many a time....it will happen again tonight. Hopefully we can just get over them regardless. Can see it being 1 or 2 points in the end.
