And even if they say it was stripped arent you allowed to attack the ball to stop a try?

yeah you can - but its classified as play on then as its a rake, not a lost ball. anyhow, in dugans case, the ball itself wasnt stripped, marshall ripped at dugans hand which caused him to lose the ball - i was of the belief thats classified as a knock on.

the big problem with the raking rule is how they determine whether it is a lost ball or not. half of them look the same but they all have different decisions.

Yes you are….but if you lose control and the attack grounds the ball then its a try.

That didnt happen here though.

Benji or whoever it was tacckling, Farah maybe pulled his hand away, much different to stripping THE BALL, farah pulled his hand, dugan loses control - knock on.

Harrigan said last night on Talking Sport that both the decisions to award the Raiders tries were incorrect.

The second one was a simle case of missed forward pass (nothing compared to the forward pass by Penrith v Warriors - went forward by 1m and ref was only 3m away???? also missed by other ref and two touch judges and video ref - who can call itas well apparently).

The Dugan try was incorrect interpretation. Should have been ruled lost in the process of the defender trying to make a tackle. Video ref ruled it was lost in the process of an intentional strip and therefore it was play on. Difficult area…..

Still can't understand that clearly forward passes can't be ruled on by video ref . No issues with letting the tight ones go . But when they are so deliberate forward (well maybe not deliberate )but forward that they can't be ruled on . At least players would be conscious of trying to at least throw flat passes

I bet they don't stand this video ref down . I see they are standing down the video ref from Manly Cowboys game for his shocker . The need for changes to video ref system need to happen as well . Have a panel of three back at League headquarters make the decision on every call on every game so they can consult and make the right decision . It can't be that hard honestly
