Dwyer Grade 1 Careless High Tackle

It is a joke, but at least we'll have Dwyer coming off the bench again this week. Be nice if he could iron out Costigan or Creagh.

I can only assume they charged him to back up the video ref and ref.

Was worth a penalty but not being put on report or charged.

It has been a careless charge all year and as such deserves one for this incident to.

It is different to Ellis as the MRC apparantly deemed it not chargeable due to the fact Ellis was attempting a bear hug style tackle rather than leading with one swinging arm

How many points does that give him?

He'll have to be on his best behaviour out there on saturday night. The last couple of weeks he's starting to get a reputation in the media as a big hitter. I'd hate for the refs to target him as a hot head and for him to do something small on saturday night and then miss the posibbility of playing in the GF if the Tigers win.

Dwyer free to take on Dragons

Boom Wests Tigers forward Simon Dwyer is free to play in Saturday night's blockbuster NRL preliminary final against St George Illawarra despite being charged for a high tackle.

Dwyer was placed on report for a 76th minute shot on Canberra forward Joe Picker last Friday night, also drawing a penalty which almost sent the semi-final into extra time.

Raiders centre Jarrod Croker missed the relatively-simple penalty goal attempt and the Tigers went on to win 26-24 at Canberra Stadium.

Dwyer has received a grade one careless high tackle charge and will avoid a ban regardless of whether he enters the early guilty plea or unsuccessfully defends himself at the NRL judiciary.

The charge comes a week after he avoided any action over a shot which left Sydney Roosters forward Jared Waerea-Hargreaves concussed.

The Tigers play the Dragons at ANZ Stadium for a place in the October 3 grand final.

The news isn't as good for Raiders prop Scott Logan, who has been handed a grade four careless high tackle charge for a 46th minute hit that left Tigers lock Chris Heighington groggy.

Logan will miss one match with the early plea and two if he loses a case at the judiciary.

I agree with Geo. Fight it. If he's exonerated, no carry over points. If he's found guilty, he plays anyway.

I agree with Geo. Fight it. If he's exonerated, no carry over points. If he's found guilty, he plays anyway.

But if he fights it he gets a higher carryover.

Not to mention it is a needless distraction in a very important week.

That and he is guilty of the charge

I think they have charged him because they want to avoid any carry over from the week before on Warrea-Hargreaves… The media could of had a field day...2 weeks in a row, high shots from same player not charged.. Or so they think...

How much more care can a player take honestly?

The Raider was falling into Dwyer's arm. He has only been charged to justify the fact he was put on report in the first place, considering that was a requirement if a penalty was to be given from the video replay.

What has made this look worse than it was is the fact that the Raiders play got a bleeding nose.

I have reviewed my position…take the plea and take it out on St George...

When I soar this on Fox sports news I completely rolled my eyes what a joke…. anyway doesnt matter now he can play

They only charged him to take the heat away from the fact they put it on report,no way known it should should have been reported
