Does anyone know how he is progressing.

It has gone off the radar a bit, I hoping he is steadilly improving

Last I heard he was overseas trying to find new treatment?

Simon Dwyer first day at home was relaxing. Having trouble with his exercises to his guns, there so bloody heavy. I feel for the physio

Look out he misspelled "they're" the WTF grammar police will be on to him.

But does anyone know how he is going? I was told today he still doesn't have feeling in his arm. I could have been told fibs though…

Apparently it's a pretty common injury in the NFL.

Best of luck with his recovery too, he was coming along quite nicely!

Simon is doing well. He has more tests on Thursday. The thing about this injury is it's a waiting game.

According to the radio this morning (20/07/2011) Dwyer still has no feeling in his arm and is scheduled to have an assessment by a nerve specialist this week to determine his future.

I am no doctor but it could not be a good sign that 4 weeks down the track he still has no feeling in his arm.

Sounds at this stage it could be a career ending injury. I hope it is not the case. Great young talent.

If Dwyer had to retire would that free up money for next year???

Would we need to sign a replacement or is this the reason Rhino is now staying.

Second row options for 2012 - Ellis, Blair, BMM, Fulton, Heightington, Schirmach Brothers

Anyone thoughts???

In to-days Rugby League Week he said he still has no feeling in his arm & its still in a sling, he said he is worried he might never play again. He said he will do anything to play footy again but hopefully he will be back sometime next year. Good luck to Simon & i hope he fully recovers.

Tragic. Not for us , but for him.

Hopefully he gets it right. Even if he takes a year off then comes back in 2013 id be stoked.

RE: 2nd row options for next year we may just be one backrower short IMO unless someone is making tracks in the 20s.

Lets not talk about that mate. Bit cold to already be thinking about how much an absent Dwyer would free up in the cap and replacement players. It's a long offseason and I've heard that sometimes these specific injuries just take time.

I agree. We also don't know if it's something that can be operated on either.

When I got my nerve graft done, which was at the time replacing the dead nerves in my shoulder with good nerves in your foot (there like a spare tire) I was told 1mm a day your nerve endings will grwo daily but my shoulder never came back as good as it was its prob only got 50% feeling and strenght to what it was. But its a weird injury I was getting feeling in parts of shouder 12 months alter, very weird and aptient innjury. All you can say is with an injury like that good luck, I hope he comes back

Reported on triple m that he is going to retire as he still has no feeling in his arm a month or so after the incident

Cheers to that, and good luck to you adamtiger. What a shocking thing to happen to anyone.

Hope this is wrong as he had so much potential & seemed a really nice bloke, all the best Simon.

Hardly a sound source (that's not a shot at you either Original Magpie.)

Triple M have probably picked it up from the RLW story and came to their own conclusion. Injuries like this are too early to tell whether he won't recover or not. I'd say Dwyer and the quacks would be giving him at least the rest of the season plus off season and then assessing whether there is marked improvement or not.

Apparently it was from Dwyer himself they said
