Eels Drama

Do Parra have a big four and does Hayne sell jerseys on eBay? Hopefully Uncle Benny goes to the media to talk up the little Princess and further undermine Parra before next Monday.

Karma - "it is what it is" (Sharon, 2017).

Bad time to be playing them. Every week they fail, they a week closer to there next win, and they have the motivation by the truck load

I honestly reckon that's nonsense, that a club who is on a losing streak are closer to a win. There are teams that finish last every year for a reason, and they don't become more or less dangerous just because they've been losing a lot.

Or to put it another way, I'd much rather play a side that's lost 5 in a row than a side that's won 5 in a row.

Every team is closer to their next win every week!

Not really..there are losses and draws that can be closer, thats the beauty of sport

I toss a coin 5 times and I get 5 heads…the sixth toss is the same odds Tails will come up, as the first toss isnt it?

That said, a team 0-3 to start a season will probably be a bit more desperate than a team that won by 50 the week before
They wont be easy

Yes, really, it is a simple fact that any team, whether they are losing, drawing or winning, is always getting closer to their next win…....... or loss or draw. Whether that event, win loss or draw, will happen in the next game may be difficult to predict but one of them will happen, so any team is always getting closer to their next win, loss or draw, even if the result that you are looking for doesn't happen (in this case, a win) in the next game or the next season.

What you say about a coin toss is true, ie the odds are always the same for each toss but it can be safely assumed that, if you toss the coin for long enough, a tail will eventually come up, therefore the longer you toss that coin the closer you get to a tail coming up. However, football games are not random coin tosses, given that we make the assumption that teams are actually trying to win, so every week will bring that team closer to a win at some time in the future. For it to be otherwise, you must make the assumption that the team in question will never win again….ever.

The odds of losing 6 straight football games are not a coin toss.

I get your point but how much more desperate to win are a 0-3 team vs an 0-2 team or an 0-4 team? And because they are an 0-3 team, how capable are they of actually winning despite their desperation? Not even remotely objectively quantifiable, otherwise we'd all be making millions betting off the back of winning and losing streaks.

Of course it won't be easy. No more or less dangerous than any other game, we should take all games equally seriously if we are intending to be a serious football side.

It won't be easy at all , 0-4 would just about kill the Eels season

I'll be surprised if we win a game 14+ this season , but I've been wrong before and hope like all hell I'm wrong on Monday and we pump the Eels

Disappointing that Hayne is out this weekend then. They may well be up for it without him playing. Probably would have suited us better with him playing.

Its all a bit predictable - Eels losing - blame the egos and the Hayne curse.
Not sure how much truth is in any of it - but if Easter Monday game is anything like the previous few, they will be ready to go and that's all we should be caring about.

We also don't know how Arthur handled the tanties, if they really happened. He may have read them the riot act and told them to pull their heads in and perform. I wouldn't plan on taking them lightly. Not to mention, Moses would like nothing better than to get one over his old club. The club that pulled his contract and made him feel unwanted.

As he was uncontracted that is why I wonder if he is on a big pay packet or is heavily discounted due to being desparate.

You rattle Moses early he’s gone for the game….

Norman is who I’m scared off

Re Moses not necessarily. In the World Cup against Aussies he was heavily put on his arse after a kick but came back solidly.

Parra certainly have the impetus to win this week not wanting to be 0-4 down and I reckon they will be a happier and perhaps more cohesive team without Haynes presence.

That said, we have pretty big motivation for wanting to win also, after the debacle of the refs decision costing us, so I’m hoping our anger and motivation trumps theirs on the day.

Will be a tough game. Cant take any team lightly. Same effort as the first 3 games will be needed.

There were signs against Brisbane to be worried about.

The Eels if they get a sniff early could clean us up. It’s not going to be an easy game at all. There will be emotion and given our lack of points we can’t keep thinking we will defend teams to no points.

I’m actually worried about this one

So Moses “came back solidly after being heavily put on his arse”…..maybe he is used to it....

And lost 34 nil. I'd take that this week.
