EELS OVER THE CAP

Over the cap in every grade…?
How can this happen, haha.
What a joke.

Did I hear right though...
Completely Ricky Stuart's fault?
That guy is an absolute idiot.

Ok now look at a full strength Roosters side and go figure how they aren't over the cap and Parra are?

Seriously??? If they ever get caught cheating the cap, you would almost laugh at them for not winning more premierships.

They've lost SBW, FPN and Mini as well since last year, go figure. I'm literally dumbfounded at home they manage to keep under the cap.

Parramatta Eels fined $525,000 for 'significant' salary cap breaches
Date May 21, 2015 - 5:58PM

NRL chief executive Dave Smith says Parramatta were repeatedly warned they were in danger of breaching the salary cap last year but ignored that advice, leaving the governing body no alternative but to issue them with a heavy sanction on Thursday. Parramatta have been fined $525,000 for breaches totalling $436,000 across four salary cap bands last year and they will also be deducted four competition points in the 2016 if they do not undertake an independent governance review.

The Eels breached the NRL Top 25 cap by $101,718, the second-tier cap by $233,036, the NYC Top 20 cap by $60,915 and the NYC second-tier cap by $8277\. It is the first time an NRL club has been found to have breached all four caps. They were also reprimanded for benefits of $32,104 provided to players by the Parramatta Leagues Club in 2013 including the purchase of a car by the club from front-rower Fuifui Moimoi. The Eels paid Moimoi $15,000 when it was worth between $3800 & $5200.

"The salary cap is one of the reasons we have the closest sporting competition in Australia," Smith said. "We have to continue to take a hard line against breaches, particularly where a club's governance and compliance systems are demonstrated to be inadequate. This action is aimed at improving the underlying problems at the club which have caused this breach." Fairfax Media reported then that the Eels were shelling out more than $750,000 to players who had departed the club, which impacted both their top-tier and second-tier salary caps.
