With the NSW government about to drop Stamp Duty on EVs and implementing chargers across the state this is looking more and more attractive. NRMA already are building chargers. Tesla Model 3 anyone?

The Tesla Model S Plaid will be the fastest production car available. 0-100Km in less then 2 seconds.

I just want one that will give me normal highway speeds and 1000klms a charge and is a family sedan and a reasonable price. Then i'm in.

Pretty sure the roadster does 0-100 in 2.4 seconds.

Price permitting I will probably get a Tesla next time around. I have a 10kW solar array on my home so it'll cost me nothing in offset cost to charge it.

As long as superchargers are strategically placed around the state as I do regional driving.

1000km not yet. 500-550km easy. Longer distances per charge are coming. Heaps of things happening in the development of battery and capacitor technology.

There's an NRMA charger in Nabiac.

No doubt this is the future - i;d love to be around when you hook it up to your solar powered home and has auto pilot capabilities where you don't have to do a thing. i'd love to be a passenger occasionaly.

Good thread, EVs are definitely the future, and my next car will be an EV (though will get a couple more years out of my current car first).

Easy, just plan your trip with something like "A Better Route Planner". You'll see all the chargers on your journey with recommendations.

Yeah I've seen them in Goulburn, pretty sure I saw a Tesla supercharger in Tamworth.

You'd need them in places like Broken Hill, Walgett, Forbes, Gilgandra, etc. Drive through towns on major roads.

Pretty sure most of those towns would have at least one. I know Dubbo, Orange, Parkes do.

I would guess most towns along the Castlereagh Highway after Gulgong probably wouldn't.

Theres a pretty extensive network of charging stations south of Perth I believe. Has been for a few years now. And I don't know about the gold coast, but theres an awful lot of Teslas about here so they must be readily available at a lot of servos

Crazy that we are still less than 1% EVs while Norway is already over 50%.

Norway is the size of parramatta lol
Aussies want utes and SUV’s not 4 door sedans

Cybertruck. Looks like a Delorean on steroids.

They're gonna be available mate. Probably a lot sooner than you think.

Not really, Oslo to Bergen is a 7 hour drive, and they have some pretty harsh road conditions!
