I can't believe anyone would rather see ET leave that stay, or for that matter not care a great deal whether or not he sticks around. He's one of the few that go as hard as he can for as long as he can.

Doesn't work that way. Ballin's payments count towards the cap. We could seek an exemption for a portion but not all however that would be at the disgretion of injury and NRL

So if he decides in the off season , knee wont cut it, and is retiring next year, why would that count towards our 2017 cap?

It wouldn't. Not if we went down the Watmough route. They somehow managed to do it halfway through the season to have his salary retrospectively excluded. I'm sure we could do it before the season starts.

He made 61 tackles on the weekend. We just need teamwork around him to finish some tackles off, he can't do them all one-on-one. We were extremely lazy against the Panthers.

I'd think Robbie would announce his plans in the next week or so so he could get a farewell at LO. Either on the field, or walking around the ground in a suit.

Yep. In this case, it's not a matter of if the injury was pre-season, but pre-contract. Same applied to Watmough.

Alas, as Manly believed, Watmough’s knee was hurting and so they saved themselves the burden of an injured player on their salary cap. The Eels claim, though, that Watmough suffered fresh injury to it over the summer and therefore it was not pre-existing.

So it’s off for assessment.

If Watmough’s injury is approved the Eels will pay him out and claim it under career-ending insurance. The moment the injury is claimed, and therefore excluded from the salary cap, every NRL club will search for players not far off retirement.

then his role changed to being a conventional forward.

hes a tackling machine for sure- but what role does the coach want him to play in the future - i'm sure he'd like to know too.

True that. We need to allow him to play to his strengths. Adds a whole new dimension to our team. In saying that we need to play to all of our team's strengths!

1....got a better offer elsewhere like rugby
2....Farah's is not budging
3....The club has failed to come to a agreement with another club re who pays what and how much of Farah's contract.

Love to see Taylor stay, 50 tackles a match,handy ball skills and a around good guy, but there is always another plater out there looking for a go

Who knows, i'm trying to stay positive that it's just a rumour. It hasn't been by coincidence that we've becoming a better team since he joined us. Finding someone who makes 50+ tackles a game and has strong attacking attributes is not an easy thing to find.
