Elijah Taylor joins Wests Tigers

Great news. Put him at lock for 80\. Allows Sue to move back into the prop rotation giving us a bench of Ava/Grant, Sue, Felise & Aloiai.

Return of the bash brothers!!

Nice, I like it and gives us a solid lock forward IMO. I think at full strength our forward pack could look like:

8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Grant
11\. Sironen
12\. Lawrence
13\. Taylor

14\. Seumanufagai (front row)
15\. Sue (front row)
16\. Aloiai (backrow)
17\. Chee-Kam/Lovett/Halatau

Great news, can't wait to see him on the park.

Does this effect the 25 player cap. There were several posts on other threads relating to JT not being able to select 'x' player(s) on a weekly basis due to cap constraints.

Will this signing effect the progress of youngsters like JAC getting more game time this year?

Welcome aboard Elijah, can't wait to see you in our jersey.

Have to admit, JT and Pascoe have been able to bring in some representative calibre players in ET and Tim Grant. We need to credit them for that.

Our forward pack is shaping up beautifuly.
Woods, Grant, Lawerence, Sue, Ava are all quality.
Felise and Ailoai have shown they are potential guns in the making, whilst Lovett has improved and shown progression.

Add Taylor into the mix and you have yourself a quality forward pack.

Quality signing.

The one thing that seems odd is that it's only for the rest of the season? Surely he would have wanted a longer term commitment from the club, and we would want a longer commitment too given we could disrupt our back row to integrate a new player who then leaves in a few months anyway??

I guess ET thinks by coming to us he will get the chance to play Fgrade and if his form is good enough, his asking price for 2017 will increase. So I think he is gambling that he will be able to drive his asking price up and we are gambling that he will be happy at the Tigers and extend latter in the season.

On the other hand it could be all tied up with our basket case of a salary cap

Well done FT.

Welcome aboard Elijah - glad you have joined us and we look forward to you playing many games for the Tigers.

8 Woods
9 Farah
10 Grant
11 Rowdy
12 Sironen
13 Taylor

14 Ava
15 Sue
16 Aloiai
17 Chee-Kam

However I am sure Halatau and Lovett will end up in there somehow.

Not a bad pack Willow, certainly would hold its own against against all but a few packs

excellent signing, certainly bolster the forward pack…....it should look good when Woodsey comes back

Id be even happier if Joel Edwards could get some forum back

Video of him on youtube shows he is very dangerous on the edge. Runs great lines like Lawrence. I wonder if Taylor will use him there or in the middle. Personally i would like to do what Parra are doing with Beau Scott. Start Elijah on the edge with Sue at lock. Then bring Siro on and move Elijah to the middle for the remainder of the game with Sue coming back on in the front row. Not sure where that leaves Aloiai though, who i rate.

Excellent signing. It is exactly what we needed.

Im guessing he will play in the middle, takes alot of pressure of the defense of the props, Taylor is their perfect foil, agile and effective in defense. Allows the likes of Sue, Ava and Aloaia to do what they do best which is the high impact stuff.

On paper it looks like a really smart signing. Plugs a hole we needed filling.

However are people concerned he can't crack first grade at Penrith?

Whats happened to him as a footballer, why is he out of favour?

I like the look of this. I'd play Aloiai at lock which I think is basically a 3rd prop. Felise could come in as well if he is performing. Fine could replace one of the players listed at 17\. Depending on how many minutes you get out of Taylor you could even play Cherrington to relive Robbie.

Good signing…. our forward pack all of a sudden looks stronger

8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Grant

11\. Sironen
12\. Lawerence
13\. Taylor

14\. Ava
15\. Sue
16\. Alioa
17\. Chee Kam/ Lovett

Penrith have a surplus of backrowers and Anthony Griffin not a fan unlike Cleary.
