I can see why you would say that but it would be a bit like buying a new, fast car and then using it to haul loads of concrete to the tip for a couple of months. If we get him early I think he has to go straight to the back.
 
I voted no. We need to let what we have play out. Sign a quality hooker and we will lose Liddie before we even get a good look at him.

Makes no sense.

Something to consider is playing Mybe in the 9 if he came over mid season. Just for this season like Tui in the 6 last year.

I don't think that helped Tui's development in hindsight and I wouldn't want to potentially make the same mistake again. I'd almost rather he stay at the Bulldogs and continue to develop as a fullback - he's very green in the position.

He could share it with Renolds and Benji. They all have good hands. Remember this is just temporary. Got to be better than others we have already used without success.

He asked for a release but it was denied.
Supposedly had a few offers on the table.
I assume Parramatta was one.
 
What happens if the interchanges go down to 6? Do we waste 1 interchange for a hooker? The other two will be for our front rowers. If we get an injury we will need that extra interchange.

Liddle is definitely our future but at the moment doesn’t have the body to endur the rigours of first grade football. We have depth in every position bar hooker. A player of parcels ability is definitely worth a look at.
 
It’s developing into Cleary’s first real black mark in team selections. Liddle is injury prone and ET and Godinet are terrible back ups. If he’s not willing to use McIlwrick, which he obviously isn’t, he needs to find another option outside the club.

Yup, my thoughts exactly.

Its why I'm hoping we get him before the June deadline. Thompson was doing fine at fullback, Tui can do a job there and might get better with more games. Happy to have Mbye at fullback for next season, but for now we need him at hooker while we ease Liddle in and get him ready for 80 mins by next season.
 
Dumb move using Mbye at hooker, the guy is a speedster and will be busted in no time if used as the Great Wall of China
I’m glad he’s not coming before a June, we need time over the offseason to formulate this guy into a weapon to ignite our backline in a rear guard offence.
This year I would work on Tui at fullback (especially positioning) then he can be used in several backline options next year with Mbye at fullback.
The wheels have fallen off Benji lately, reverting back to running in circles, offloading hospital passes and the old heave ho on the last tackle.
We are also killing Reynolds at hooker, I would have Benji 5/8 for 1st half then bench him and bring Reynolds off the bench at 5/8 for the 2nd half - this would add so much variety to our attack over the 80 minutes - Reynolds needs to be 2nd half as he has the drive, energy, kicking game and teamwork to bring us home with a wet sail.

Liddle needs time, Taylor is useless and the other two are reserve graders!
 
I agree Liddle is our future but I’ve stated previously that McIlrick should be brought back into the fray, he was going great guns before Godinet spoilt the party. We don’t need to keep recruiting hookers. In case you haven’t noticed the ball goes in the 2nd row these days so I believe we have capable rocket scientists already in our fold.
