Esan Marsters Commits to Wests Tigers

Wow, seems to also possess a silky set of hands as well.

Seems like a great signing to me.

Bring in Liddle, and Marsters over the next 12-24 months to combine with tedesco, brooks, moses, and keep players like taylor, nofoaluma, simona, woods.

Seems exciting to me.

Not a good comparison. Esan is taller and 10kg heavier than Alex Glenn.
Having said that, if he turns out as good as Glenn we are on a winner

Taller? I doubt that. Esan is not tall, if he's taller than Glenn is only marginal. Dont care what stats may say, they are oftem wrong for some weird reason. Marsters is a short and stocky type backrower.

Stocky, maybe. Short he is not. I'm over 6 foot and he is about as tall as me.

A ball playing second rower with a step and some pace just what we need. Watch out Lawrence since you are now a playing member of the Legends Club your days could be numbered with blokes like this in the wings.

Very happy with this re-signing, Marsters is a very good backrower in the making, good footwork and runs good lines. Very keen to see how he goes next year and beyond.

I thought I had read previously somewhere that he had already re-signed, maybe stated that he had committed to the Tigers. Anyhow a good prospect, hopefully he now has a blinder tomorrow evening!!

Last time he was mentioned on the forum I thought he was being linked to the $harks.

1.87m

fair call

Our clubs current form may suggest that about Lawrence, but I think he will be good for the club as young players like Esan come up. Doesn't he have a degree in sports science and he is a levelheaded guy.

I think Lawrence will also be better getting the occasional breather.

He's got centre written all over him and would be wasted in the back row

Was thinking the same thing . Looks like he has speed & he's a similar size to Leilua & Hurrell .

Must be some very tall boys in that under 20's team then cos he certainly doesnt tower above anyone at all.

I see a lot of Josh Papalii in him. I also note, though he has quick feet, he's stepping through NYC defence and not grade-level. I still think he looks like an attacking backrower.

I haven't watched him extensively in NYC, but how is he defensively?

Has on several occasions filled in at centre so it is not out of the question.

He's not a centre. He's not quick enough, unless he works on his sprints in the off season and improves a lot. Lovett has more experience playing in the centres than he does.

He's a highlight reel kind of player. Makes breaks, scores tries. Still has a lot of work to do when it comes to simply hitting the ball up hard and making his tackles.

But he certainly has the x-factor in attack. Nice footwork, a strong fend and runs good lines. But then so did Liolevave. He did score 14 tries off the bench last year in NYC i think and another 10 this year.

Will be good to see how he develops. Not a huge forward by any means. Quite nuggety.

You are contradicting yourself. He is a centre in the making !
