The Wests Tigers are in danger of losing star centre Esan Marsters next season.

The Kiwi Test ace is under contract for 2020 but has told those close to him he wants a release, with both the Cowboys and Bulldogs ready to swoop. The 23-year-old, who played every game for the Tigers last season and was the club's top pointscorer, is a frustrated footballer.

Marsters is a specialist right side centre - although he has played some recent games on the left edge - and sees little football with the Tigers principally a team that attacks down the left side. The strong centre is the Tigers' equal top tryscorer (nine) with fullback Corey Thompson this season, but believes he can do better with more ball.

Last Sunday's big win over the Dragons summed up Marsters' dilemma - he barely saw the ball, whereas his teammate Paul Momirovski bagged three tries on the opposite side of the field.

If Marsters does leave, expect the Tigers to go all out for sacked Knights centre Jesse Ramien.

Well, that escalated quickly. Disappointing if true. He's a junior from here and has the potential to be world-class. This season hasn't been his best but hopefully he stays.

That's fluff, he doesn't want out, he loves the club, Madge and the players at the club. He needs to work harder and is aware that if he doesn't pick up his game, he will be dropped. The easy way out would be to leave and get a 'guaranteed' spot in another team. That is what this article is indicating. He wont leave unless the club wants him out I reckon.

I don't understand footballers who think they don't get enough ball to match their talent... halfbacks will pass to you happily if you'll do something with it. Easiest thing in the world to pass to a star footballer and watch them do all the hard work.

Those close to Marsters ie player manager have told him the Dogs and Cowboys are desperate to get a centre. He gets a bonus on the deal. This is the usual tripe at end of season.
