ET seeking release *Rumour

ET isn't contracted to us next season. It would be a massive loss if he does leave but, I also wouldn't blame him if it was for family reasons. He won't be easily replaced.

ET has an option in his favour he does not need to seek a release much like Gagai at Newcastle.

Apparently Moses also has a brain damaged uncle that requires his support near Parramatta

He's daughter is very ill, so if he wanted to return home to NZ it wouldn't surpirse me and there'll be no grudges held against him.

Wish him the best regardless of where he goes.

Oh well, at least we've got a handy replacement in Eastwood lol

Can't see Eastwood making 62 tackles in a game though! Lol.

The only thing Eastwood will do 62 of in one game is eating donuts on the bench. Can't believe we're linked to him

Wow!!! Like sands through the hour glass so are the days of our lives….unfortunate if true but life will go on. This guy leaves everything out on the field and its a pity he hasn't been used better in attacking raids to present. Family comes first so much with kiwis, I should know I'm married to one and no I'll feelings towards him. On a positive sign gives us more cash to splash on some bigger forwards.

IMO one player making 62 tackles anf having no effect offensively is detriment to the team. I dont look at stats, but do the Storm or Roosters have a player that makes 50+ tackles every week? Dragons and Sharks dont. Point im making is you dont need one player to do the defense, its much more effective when the pack works together sharing the load, and thats what we need to do next year.

On ET possibly leaving, it would be a shame to lose someone of his character to the club.

Yeah I feel for ET, he is shouldering an unsustainable workload in Defence, and his attack is suffering as a result.. the rest of the forwards need to aim up.!…I hope he is not leaving just to get outta here.

Watching him in some games towards the end looks absolutley spent but just soldiers on. He will be a big loss if he has to go.

Dont we have a donut sponsor? The pieces of this puzzle are stating to fall into place.

Donut sponsor?? Sssshhhhh!!! They're our secret TPA.

This is disappointing if true but, obviously, if it's for family reasons, the club cannot stand in his way. Actually, the Tigers should make a point of bowing to a gentleman, hard worker and loyal club man, as a way of making a point to the spoiled brat behavior of Moses, who should be kept in reserve grade for the remainder of the season.

I am not sure where you get that thought from - Since I have been following the game - 40 years. There has always been one forward in good sides who does the heavy lifting and makes way above the average in tackles.

As for ET - I agree with you and everyone else. If it is because of his daughter, he needs to, and go now. There is always next week or next year for a game of footy. With a really sick kid, you don't know how many cuddles you have left!!

Family is always more important than your job.If he needs to leave because of his daughter he will go with the best wishes of everyone

Why can't we just rent out an apartment for 2 years for ET's parents?

Trigubuffs would have a few vacant ones he can write of on tax.

ET's parents could just take a 2 year sabbatical…

If only life was so simple. :unamused:

Hope this is a beat up as he has been a great player for us and would go well next year with Big Ben and Packer
Smoking Gun may know more

Maybe it's not so much about that player's work ethic but more about the team becoming reliant on one individual's efforts. Exactly the same issue we always had with Benji, and others - once they're gone other players drop their heads.

In that sense, yes it is detrimental. All the players need to step up and take ownership of defence!

I wouldn't swap 1 Elijah Taylor for 700 Lolohea's..

I believe this story is a beat up from when his daughter was ill… When everyone would reassess their situation..I do not believe Elijah has asked for a release....

too right & good to hear

Can't see Eastwood lasting 62 seconds :roll

His missus said the same thing

Somebody posted the lurkers rumour on to a WT FB page and his wife/partner commented that the rumour was news to her. I don't think ET is going anywhere

Thank goodness. ET embodies everything great about the Tigers. I'd love him to become captain of the club when the time is right.
