Eye of the Tiger Training/Trial Jersey

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the orange version:

But before anyone asks, I cannot do a black or white one as my skills are not that good, and the quality of the image isn't that great to be able to really work with.

that is ten-gazillion times better than our current one
thanks man!

Who designs these jerseys that WT release? Humpty? Harry T? XBlades? a 2year old? Stevie Wonder? Sheens…?

Seriously, how hard is it. 3 club colours equally represented.

Just employ Craegus !!

Looks more like a 12, as in 2012.

Do they ever survey fans to see if a jersey like this would sell. I'm not in this field but has to be bad marketing ?

I love this mate. How do you not work for Wests Tigers merchandising or X-Blades?

I don't mind the 'design' at all and the 'colour' yellow isn't that bad. the 'eye of the tiger' concept is quite good actually. it is, after all, just a training / potential trial game jersey.

could it possibly be a hint as to the 'design' of the 2012 jersey to be used with the colours from 2011?

If we used the Craegus version of that jersey sales would Sky Rocket. I love our current jerseys funny enough but that design is fantastic.

Will have to see the Yellow version in person to fully make a purchase decision for me.

As far as I'm aware, clubs have to keep a jersey design for a minimum 2 seasons (although some say it's 3? Not sure which is true). As such, I doubt we'll see this used throughout the season.

Once again Craegus you make another design I would buy!

That's correct wont be wearing this in any comp games.

I really like it - it is a training jersey and we have had differ colored shirts every year - blue and yellow, green as well I think I saw last year.

I think it's a good idea - its not as if they would produce another orange or white jersey as they already have one and given they will wear through the summer black wouldn't have been an option.

Every team around the world uses different colors from time to time, it's good to see we are mature enough as a team now to be able to do the same, let's see:

Barcelona - aqua
Man Utd - blue and gold
Man City - red and black
Collingwood - blue and orange
Roosters - green
England RU - orange and yellow
Geelong - Sky blue
Dragons - charcoal for Charity Shield
Everton - pink
Liverpool - green
The list goes on and on and on…...........

I do like Creagus adaption, but I am sure the ppl at Wests Tigers would have had an orange version in mind for down the track and this is probably a test as to the design as opposed to trying to introduce a new color.

I like the Eye of the TIger name though (has song playing in my head)

Anyone think that we should start a supporters movement to cooperate with the club in choosing future jersey designs?

Better yet, start a supporter's movement to get Craegus to do all of the future jersey designs.

Jersey rulea dont apply to trial or training jerseys.. WT have had the most jersey variants in the NRL

2000-2002 original with black/gold v
2003-2004 new design
2005-2007 jersey design worn in gf
2008-2010 main black / main gold plus 2009 10 year anniv jersey
2011- current designs
Plus balmain and magpies heritage x2 2004-2007 (v design) plus 2008-2009 (centenary) 2010-2011 bandage stripes style. Plus 2004 team of the century plus 2004 world sevens jersey plus 2001 hybrid striped jersey plus numerous training shirts.. Thats why we have so much going around. Mix that also with fans wearing retro jerseys and sometimes nsw cup jerseys.

Wests Tigers have today unveiled an exciting new 2012 "Eye of the Tiger"
training jersey.

The distinctive jersey will be worn by the players during training and may be used during selected pre-season trial matches in February.

Brett Clarke, General Manager of Sales and Marketing, said the Club chose the training jersey for a variety of reasons.

"With the increasing use of GPS devices at training, we needed to develop a training jersey that could hold the GPS units without the players being required to wear restrictive vests. To this end, each players training jersey will feature a cradle for their GPS unit,''
Clarke said.

"Another key factor in the design was to utilise a colour for the summer months when it is too hot to train or play in darker strips.

"The Club already has a white jersey and we did not want to retail another white jersey.

"Each season, we have changed training apparel with recent years featuring colours including blue, green, yellow and pink .

"Producing apparel in non-traditional colours is nothing new for Wests Tigers, in fact we have had a different colour every year for the past four seasons, however this season we have decided to retail the jersey given the fact that the players will be wearing the item at an increasing number of training sessions.

"This is the first time in many years Wests Tigers have retailed the training jersey. We have already taken a number of pre-orders for the training jersey since it first appeared on weststigers.com.au this morning.

"This jersey is not designed to replace any of our current jerseys and is designed for training purposes. We remain committed to our playing kits featuring our club colours for the long term.

With Wests Tigers increasing partnership with the Children's Cancer Institute of Australia (CCIA), the new jersey will also support the charity's Gold Ribbon program by donating $5 from every 'Eye of the Tiger' jersey to the CCIA.

"We are very proud of our partnership with the CCIA as evidenced by our announcement earlier in the week that our season launch will raise funds for the great cause,'' Clarke said.

"The release of this jersey is just another way we as a club and as supporters can contribute to the CCIA's Gold Ribbon campaign."

Can anyone in the know explain what the GPS devices do?

Is it to keep a track of the players to make sure they dont skip down to the pub? :stuck_out_tongue:
