No problem moving on Snake,however if you include Brooks and Moses as part of the four best players in the club,then maybe you should take something and have a lie down,these two are pretenders until they show me they are NRL standard…Teddy and Woods are rep level players,how anyone can put the other two in the same class simply amases me...hype wont win you games..talent and intestinal fortitude will...

JT was not taking us anywhere just losing players.
Think the board is going OK. Gave Balmain representation and promote their equal share in the JV. Quite humble really.
Got the NRL control of our club out.
They gave JT a chance and 2 and a bit years is long enough if you don"t make finals. Get the feeling the board was not happy that our loss to Canberra mirrored last year and even the Souths win was similar to 16\. So nothing was improving and he moved Farah on and no real change on the park.

Guess the board maybe wanted to get everybody almost off contract and if JT didn"t improve things get a fresh coach who can pick and choose an entirely new roster and decide how much everybody is worth. Clever really.

Can somebody please explain to me what Marina Go has done to cause such vitriol ??. Didn't the lady stress at least twice when she was appointed Chair of the board that current problems would exist until the 2018 season.
It wasn't her who ran the club into debt, it wasn't her who totally stuffed the salary cap, it wasn't her who let Fifita walk, it wasn't her who signed off on the insane contracts that was presented to Farah, Lawrence.
Why do you think Addo-Carr wasn't resigned?
Same goes for Justin Pascoe, all you need to do is look at the club's website to get an appreciation of the way he has tried to turn the club. I'm really tired of Dicks like Ben Ikin who are too bloody lazy to look into the real reasons why this club has been beset with numerous problems over the last few years. He brings on that sleaze Rothfield, and follows up the next day with his little fat mate Dean Richie, both well-known haters of the Tigers.
The Western Suburbs side of the franchise run the show caused they have the money. Balmain franchise stuffed up. Its all pretty simple. Marina Go, Justin Pascoe and for that matter Jason Taylor were miles away when this club was being run into the ground.

Maybe the board had decided to Tank in 2017 , lower the Big 4 's price , sack the coach and totally rebuild in 2018\. Only problems is no one will want to play or that administration.
Or Maybe Liam Fultons right , they have always had no clue.

They are not faceless men directors of Wests Ashfield who bailed us out of NRL ownership which, appointed Go, JT and caused this disaster. Their major fault was not sacking JT in the offseason. The board needs a chairperson and independent director with extensive Rugby League experience and eventually Balmain back.

I don't think not sacking him in the off season was a major fault. He'd taken them from 15th to 9th. They didn't have a clear trigger to do it. Those two shocking losses handed them the opportunity to punt him and to not cop much blowback from it.

If they sacked JT in the offseason and signed Cleary and the 4 off contract there would be zero drama. That would take a club with pros running it though.

That would have been understandable. Sack in the off season and have a new coach for Rd 1\. No drama.
I'm only complaining about the sacking because it's definitely killed out season before it even had a chance.
I'm already looking at 2018.
2017 is the spoon we needed to have. I'm even taking the $10 on offer. It's a good bet looking at our rabble.

No drama had they just sacked the coach out of the blue in the off season? After Farah had gone? They'd have been absolutely pilloried and accused of using Taylor to get rid of Farah. They would have trashed the reputation of the club further and made it an even more undesirable place for any decent coach to come.

TT agree with you. This agent is going to kill their careers as they are being overhyped due to their ridiculous asking price as part of a cartel. They are not there yet and may never be but have potential. Slight overs I understand but Teddy is the only reason they have power.
Sign Teddy the cartel falls very quickly WT will move on from Broses and Woods but Teddy is a player they can build around.

Overlooking the blatant sexism of your last sentence, Matchball, Marina Go was appointed because she is a successful business person, not a washed up footballer. She is someone who is steadily bringing this club back to being a viable business which it should have been all along but somehow others managed to stuff it up over the years. No, she doesn't know much about the intricacies of playing rugby league, which puts her on a par with most contributors to this forum but she wasn't appointed as a coach.

First and foremost this club is a business which I believe is now being run in a professional manner. The board is performing by steadying the financial ship and everyone else has to perform in their given roles or walk the plank. I've always supported JT but he wasn't performing to the satisfaction of the board so they terminated his contract; no sentimentality, just hard nosed business - this is what will provide us with a club to follow into the future. Hmm, or maybe we could hire a brain damaged ex front rower as chair.

She has done a poor job and should be held accountable. Appointed by Dave Smith who was also a failure. Hired CEOs and by virtue JT. Simply a poor record in management of the football club. Pascoe is clearly out of his depth and so is Go their press conference was an embarrassment to our once great club. We need hard heads like Shane Richardson, John Quale or John Ribot running the show. The best people will do.

Marina Go is as much a 'magazine editor' as Rupert Murdoch is. Plus, I think people have a pretty fanciful idea as to what the board actually does.

As for Ikin - on the podcast he explains himself a lot better than the quotes listed in that article. He says he had heard that it was the WS faction of the newly formed board that initiated the termination of JT's reign, and extrapolated on that a bit. Have a listen - the audio is imbedded in the news story.

Todd Sampson, the advertising guy from TV sits on the QANTAS board. Not a pilot as far as I'm aware.
The Chair of the BHP Billiton board worked for Ford for 30 years. I suppose Ford was at least a consumer of steel products?

I'm not saying she's good or bad, I've never worked with her or seen her work so I don't have any view on her at all. I've also not seen her CV, but then I'm not making claims about her being qualified or unqualified.
