Facility funding to richer clubs while Wests Tigers, Manly miss out

Was never going to be a reality.

Now knowing that the NRL and other clubs were part of the decision making process it was mission impossible.

Surely getting a COE that doesn't cost an arm and a leg was the way to go. We really are poor at managing anything

As if we were ever going to get $10M anyway! What, a quarter of the entire fund? Was a bit ambitious to start with..

Closer to 1/6 of the total.
The other clubs were asking for the same amount, being 10mil.

But I thought the pool was $40M?

Sorry mate, thought you meant 1/4 of our proposal. Youre right 1/4 of the govt pool.

Surely the money should be spread evenly to all the proposals. If the clubs cant get the other money for their COE then the govt doesnt release the money.

All good mate, yeah true it might be better divided out equally. Would cause a lot less hassle, I don't think any team in particular is more deserving over another of the funding.

The reason we are so ranked so lowly in getting funding is because our centre costs $57million. Where the hell is the other $47million going to come from if the government gives us $10mil. We were better off to do something that was reasonable and therefore likely to be approved. Can't see this ever getting of the ground.

Yep this was always pie in the sky stuff from Justin "Hubris" Pascoe.
