Failed careers

Owen Craigie could have been anything with the right attitude.

I thought Luke Isakka was going to be a regular first grader with us for a while. Sammy Latu also.

Isaac DeGois is a great player…I think he's kicked on well, he happens to play in a position that has some other brilliantplayers....mightnt be as skillful as some but geez I love his ticker some of our blokes could take a leaf outta his book

Yes he never gives up. Has a bit of mongrel in him too. Wish we could have kept him at the tigers.

Stuart Flannagan showed a lot of promise early on. Surprised he didn't kick on to be a regular starter for another team.

I remember mark luland being talked about as the next big thing, also hasan saleh was also supposed to have pretty big wraps coming through

Ryan Tandy, Hickey, O'Hara, Learoyd-Lars (I reckon Bellamy will revive him next year), Owen Craigie, Craig Field, BMM, Carney, Daine Laurie, Geoff Daniella, Krisnan Inu (found out the reason he wasn't given a contract with the Dogs was because he was sleeping with a team mates 16yr old sister), Chris Lawrence, Blake Ayshford, Tim Smith, Blake Lazarus, Jacob Miller, Tim Moltzen, Jake Mullaney, Dean Collis, that bloke who shagged that dog Monaghan, the list goes on.

He tops the list

Lapina (Maka) Kaufusi 2002\. Laurie Daley was calling him the next Wendell Sailor i think.

I went to school with him and he had never picked up a Rugby League Ball in his life.

Karl Filinga - signed by Ricky Stuart for the Sharks at, allegedly, $400K. Played 11 mins off the bench in 1 NRL game and that was it. Almost $40K/minute.

Agree with a lot of names mentioned.

That Titans winger that bagged 4 (or was it 3?) tries on debut - Aitken I think it was, is another.

And Eel's winger come second-rower, Taulima Tautai I think his name was. I liked what I saw from him early on. Don't know where he is now.

Joel Monaghan? Played for NSW. Only playing in England because he was hounded out of the country.

Hardly a wasted career…

Sorry but any career that winds up because you shagged a dog isn't a good one. He hounded himself out of the country…literally. Decent player but he won't be remembered as the guy who played for NSW that's for sure.

He has always played to his potential though. He's hardly Owen Craigie or Arana Taumata (although sometimes I would guess he wishes he is.)

Simon Dwyer.

😱pen_mouth:

Now before you all shoot me for it - I'm not having a go at Simon for wasting his potential. Not in the slightest.

I'm highlighting the fact that he had a massive career in front of him that ended.

You could also add Jharal Yow Yeh to that as well.

anyone else you think might fall into that category lads?
A bright career cut short by injury?

Tuiaki comes to mind of course.

We miss you Simon - hope you one day prove me wrong. :sign:

The winger for the broncos back in 08\. Denan Kemp i think it was. Had an outstanding year then disappeared never to be seen again.

Outstanding season playing outside a great backline - was found out when he moved to the Warriors.

Where's Michael Witt at these days? He was a great goal-kicker.

Since when has being religious stopped people from inappropriate sexual behaviour. Just ask all those alter boys.
