My point is we may see them as failed careers , they would probably look at it entirely differently way

@Yossarian said:Do any old Balmain fans remember Michael Brown? Spent years as Ben Elias' understudy - looked just a matter of getting his shot but when it came he didn't kick on and his career fell away…
Other players that come to mind:
Shannon Nevin - looked tops at Manly, career declined to nada pretty quick after coming to Balmain
Isaac De Gois - Just hasn't kicked on like he seemed to promise.
Codey Townsend - Super quick but wrong attitude.
Blake Ayshford - Showed glimpses of genius at times and then declined to the point where even the Sharks dropped him when they had nobody else to pick.

Didn't he go to England and get a tooth stuck in his leg? Was that him?
@happy tiger said:Not disagreeing CQ , just saying some of these blokes put many years of hard work into cracking the NRL and playing 2 games
A bet they see it as an achievement , not as a failed career
I would of killed and died to have played just one game

@Abraham said:Going back in time… I would say Johnny Elias would easily top the list of wasted careers (slight twist to the theme).
The guy easily had the talent to play for Australia, but could never hold his off-field activities at bay long enough to fulfil the potential.
He is more famous for his stints in jail than his onfield accomplishments, but for those who remember him at his best, he was absolutely devastating.
