im no puss, but league is not mma dude, origin or not.
it is a product, and frankly, using fighting as an endorsement for origin or any league game is not the way forward.
im a nsw fan through and through, and cocooned from the eastern states press, but fact is queensland have an amazing team of great players and this is just what happens in sport: back in the days nsw were dominating it was because they had great players at the time. this is just what is called a golden era. nsw will have theirs again. keep the faith!
i think origin 1 was a great win for the underdog, won with spirit and guts. even the blow up with gallen and myles was spur of the moment and not the contrived feel i got from last nights game. also, gallen didnt hit a guy who wasnt looking at him.
dont get me wrong: i am a huge ufc fan and love boxing.
if i want to see this, i have gigs upon gigs of this to watch. i watch league because it is a different kind of physical challenge to play, and now i am too old to, love to see.
but if you want to see fighting? watch ufc.

Haha, well I found it quite funny considering Tate was the one who belted Bird last year or the year before while he was being held down on the ground by a Queenslander.

i find it absolutely unfathomable any man would 'glass' anyone, let alone a woman. ive done shit in my time, but nothing i cant live with. i feel sorry not only for the victim, but for the person who would have done such a thing.

Woah woah woah. I'm not condoning Birds past any way shape or form. I'm simply saying punches get thrown in origin and who cares if it was right or wrong. It's part of origin, and it's awesome when a blue breaks out.

On 13 March 2009, Bird again appeared in Sutherland Local Court[25] on 5 charges, 1 charge with 4 backup charges, of common assault against a female at Cronulla on 19 January 2008\. This matter was not related to the case involving his girlfriend.[26] His accuser was found to have been the aggressor in the incident and Bird was cleared of all charges by the magistrate.[27]
On 28 April 2009, Bird was found guilty of 1 count of reckless wounding of his girlfriend and 1 count of making a false accusation to police after attempting to blame his flatmate.[28] On 22 June 2009, he was sentenced to a maximum of 16 months imprisonment.[29]
On appeal in November 2009, Bird was acquitted of the charges, after both he and his girlfriend gave evidence to support his claims.[30]
