Farah and Miller

Just watched Farah's press conference about his resigning and noticed he didn't give the new 7 a mention at all. He talked about Koro, Woods, Sirro but not Miller. Also, when Potsy was talking about miller in a post game conference I felt farah didn't really approve of him. And the biggest factor, is the way farah treats Miller on the field. I feel like Benji is really giving the bloke a chance while Farah…not so much. You can see that by things like all those photo shoots where miller is right next to benji, benji's song on the footy show had miller and moltz in it. Stuff like that, I just feel like it negatively impacts Miller's growth and the team as a whole.

Any thoughts? Might be reading into a bit hard.

You're reading too much into it…Miller needs to earn his strips with a bloke like Farah...nothing wrong with that IMO

On Brandy and Gibbsy he said we are being patient with Miller,we know he will have good days and bad days, but we will stick with him.
But at the end of the interview they asked about Brooks,Farah said the kid has all the traits of a first grade half, including the build which was unusual for his age,he also said the kid will be part of the tigers team for many years to come,so read in to that what you will.

Yeah I have a feeling that maybe Farah doesn't trust Miller as much as other blokes in the side. The hardest part is this trust is earned, not given and it can be difficult finding the opportunity to earn said respect.

Yeah I think too much is being read into this too. So what If Robbie didn't mention him. He didn't mention Buchanan, Murdoch Masila, Tedesco and Nofoaluma to name a few. As for what has been observed on the field. How do we know this is the case?? Robbie's a passionate, hard working footballer who hates to lose. I don't think I've ever seen him fool around on the field during a game. He's a harsh judge Robbie, his standards are high.

You never know Potsy's intentions out on that field, his game-play might be for Benji to be Farah's first receiver and rather Miller be Benji's first receiver.
A couple other points guys have added also factor into it.

Sheens clearly had an opinion on miller and his place in the squad , possibly an opinion he shared with his captain and senior leadership group. Sometimes when you get an idea about someone it is hard to move on from the impression.

Or you are just reading too much into it and we'll see the miller/farah/marshall combination improve the more time on the field they have together.

Heard an interview with Benji before the year started and he was also raving about how good Brooks is going to be and how impressed he was with him. Maybe both Robbie and Benji see Miller as a short term half with Brooks the future.

Maybe I am reading too much into it. I did hear last year that a senior player in the side (not Robbie) didn't have a high opinion of Miller and had told Sheens that.

Exactly, I think he much prefers brooks as a major playmaker in the team.

Yeah, but this is ignoring his current HALFBACK, who scored a try. And it's not just that he didn't mention him, he also seemed uptight when potsy was talking about him the other day and his actions ONFIELD don't tell me that he feels any differently than the way he acts offield.

Ahh - nothing like a good conspiracy theory!

But you know what? I agree.

It crossed my mind in Miller's early NRL games when Farah actually pushed him out of the way once or twice to get the ball instead. His body language seemed to say "get out of the way, what are you thinking, I don't want you involved in this play!"

In fact I can't remember seeing anything in Farah's behaviour to counter your theory…

If JM keeps performing and improving he will earn his stripes with the senior players, for sure. If he has too many games like he did v the Knights, well, he wont be in FG for long so it wont matter either way. Everyone on this forum knows how important # 7 is but the half is only as good as his forwards allow him to be. If our pack can at least hold their own all should be good.

Won't matter how good or bad Miller plays he will be in the team every week.
Coaches all have their favorites and Potter is banking on Miller in particular seeing Sheens didn't want him.

The unfortunate loser in all this is Tedesco..a Sheens discovery.

my biggest concern right now is that millers first instinct with the ball is step and go inside all the time.
exactly like moltzen.

right now it is wait and see.

I think you are reading a bit too much into the comments, however I do think Brooks will blow straight past Miller, and id be surprised if a number of the players dont feel the same.
That said I reckon Miller will play NRL somewhere

IMO - Miler will be a solid FG halfback somewhere else, Brooks will be a NSW Orgin halfback at the tigers within 3 years and HB at the tigers from next year

Lot of hype around Brooks, except from some you tube footage have not seen him play, going out to the spiritual home of Rugby League early to check him out. It seem no secret around the joint he is our long term choice, must be hard for Milky, but I guess the better he goes the more he is worth elsewhere if in fact he goes
