Farah exit ushers in new Tigers era

You stress to much BBF… Have some more of your herbal medicine!

It sounds like Woods is being his jovial self and answering a stupid question with a stupid answer.

He endorses Ballin, and reckons we will be right. At the same time, he is asking the boys to step up and become leaders.

Its 2 days after his wedding... Probably just put down his Tooheys!

It must seem odd for all the players to not have RF around. Like him or not he was a 'presence' and his absence will be felt. I don't perceive that Woods had any big dramas with him being gone, just that it feels 'different' now.

Woods needs to step up and become a leader. He does not warrant the (C) beside his name in the program. That means, more about team and less about Woods.

Didnt seem to bother them when they were playing without him when he was dropped…theyll get over it

I expect them to go out every game and play to the best of their ability. I think we are a better team with Robbie playing and that is the real issue. Liddle seems to have a lot of wraps. I hope he kills it and then losing Robbie won't matter. It'll help the team in 2018 when we don't have Robbie's contract on our books.

They've already proven they play better without Farah. And that was with Halatua and Rankin doing the job.
Onwards and upwards

It still baffles me when people attack Rankin and say him at dummy half held us back. How exactly? We won 4 games and lost another one by just a point. I still if he was kicking against the Titans that he would have landed one of the shots in the last 10 minutes that Moses missed and we'd be in the 8\. Oh well.

This is good comeback.

I think we've got the making of a really good team. We don't need to change that much. I think though that one thing we have to do is develop our style a little more.

Why then do you suggest that we should sack Taylor on every post you make as if this would magically cure all our faults and elevate us to the premiership?

Farah was on the slide and taking up a lot of salary cap. Okay the was he was pushed was not great and our salary cap probably has not got a real lot of relief but sadly I think both parties will be better off in 2017\. Taylor has decided he wants quick long balls to his play makers and see Ballin and Liddle more likely to deliver and he probably is right. The only problem is the 50 tackles a match and Farah's kicking out of D/H is now gone

I've watched Matty's game alot, and I like the fact he plays his Props tighter… I feel we play with too much width in the middle and this is a big part of why our Centres seem non-existent.

Matty doesnt have a huge kicking game, but is very good with his short-kicking, plus he can fire a really fast ball out wide off the deck.

If fit and ready to go, I can see Ballin bringing Luke Brooks into the game alot more effectively and have him coming forward more often than not.

Bring on 2017!

People talk about Ballin like he is going to add something to the side.

A 33 year old hooker who has not played footy for 18 months coming off 2 knees and was ordinary in his last season in 2014.

People get clouded due to their dislike of Farah. Imagine Farah had missed 2 straight years people would be calling him a broken down bus which is exactly what Ballin in.

I would be playing Liddle from Round 1.

and people bag Ballin because they never wanted Farah to be irrelevant.

Ballin will do what Taylor wants… stand and pass. Though I found it interesting the number of runs Halatau took when he was hooker in the later rounds. Ballin will struggle there is no doubt. I just hope we don't have to see any more Rankin moving to 9 and shuffling half the team anymore.

Hallelujah we can stop talking about him now, pahlease 😛ray:

Praise the lord. 😛ray:

His detractors liked to talk about him more than anyone.

Did you notice you used past tense? It's only normal for tigers fans to talk about tigers players on a tigers forum.
Souffs players though? Pass

In a Farah thread completely okay to discuss the subject and up and downs. It is extremely simple for those who don't want to discuss or see just not to open this thread - why do they punish themselves?

There are several threads I refuse to open simply because of the context and or whoever has started that thread. If I opened every thread posted on here, I would have suffered an aneurysm by now.

Taylor never had a problem with Farah running. It was that he runs laterally and not direct. Taylor's preferred hooker is the Jake Friend, Isaac Luke style hooker who give quick service and when they run, they run straight. Importantly, they don't try and play like a third half. Halatau did exactly that.
