Wests tigers game-breaker robbie farah gets a last minute chance to push his nsw origin claims shifting back to hooker for sunday's heritage round clash with south sydney at the scg.

With halfback robert lui cleared to return from a round two ankle injury, farah can stake his origin claim before nsw selectors finalise their 17-man origin squad on monday night to play queensland later this month.

Farah said taking on souths at the scg was a tough ask.

After winning the inaugural heritage clash in 2008, the tigers went down in front of a boisterous crowd of almost 30,000 last year.

"last year was a cracker of a game, they got us in golden point so hopefully it's another exciting game at the scg but this time with a different result.

"it's going to be a very tough game, a big crowd there and a lot of emotion."

Farah could win the game single-handedly and still not get picked, the selectors have made their choice. Daley said on fox the only difficult position choice left was 5/8…

If nsw get beat game 1 and robbie plays well he may get his chance but not before then.

Daley and co don't want robbie in the team because he adds too much creativity and spark. They want to play the same dour brand of "state of origin style" football with "state of origin style" players that has provided us with those glorious series **losses** we have seen over the last few years. Ennis is perfect. He shovels out of dummy half, doesn't make too many mistakes, and kicks for touch. Should do just fine in servicing that livewire brett kimmorley. Reckon qld will be quaking in their boots.

Before anyone goes off saying how good kimmorley and ennis are, my position is this - they are decent players, but hardly what nsw needs to overcome qld. We need to fight fire with fire.

That's not the attitude I have about it. Farah isn't playing his best football at the moment so I can understand it if he is overlooked. As for Lawrence, well he's not getting a great deal of quality ball which doesn't help him. I'd rather see both players get back into top form at the Tigers before seeing them play for NSW.
