Farah tweeted at 7pm 29/11/11 to Aaron Woods that he would be in rehab when he returned to training. When Woods asked was he getting the groin done, Robbie replied "yeah lad tomorrow".

Happy to play devils advocate here, but the Tigers are paying Robbie how much??? Shouldnt the opp have been done 2 months ago having him fully fit for pre season, and any recurring niggles dealt with before season 2012? Just my preference thats all.

As far as I'm concerned, this puts another hole in the Terrorgraph's story about this supposed feud… Sheens wouldn't have taken an injury riddled Farah unless he could handle it...

What? You want our captain to put the team first? You got the wrong guy.

Yeah but I guess he wanted a shot at rep football. The green and gold and the blue jerseys really mean a lot to him, it's like the devil on his back. 6 months is still plenty of time to recover from a groin anyway, especially if it was an injury that didn't even have him sideline.

On side not to my comment, good luck with the opp. Lets hope it goes great and frees Robbie up. Great player on his day.

Ouch! Hope all O.K. 😛ray:
Although things obviously didn't pan out the way he thought, maybe Robbie was hoping for a Kangaroo berth. You may remember Sheens (post 2005 I think) talking about the value of playing rep footy. Maybe Robbie thought that playing for Australia would improve his game for the Wests Tigers.
Maybe you aren't being very fair King Sirro…...

Good luck with the procedure Robbie. Fingers crossed it all works out.

Agreed, all the best to Robbie for a successful op and quick recovery to good health.

Exactly, hoping this op allows him to open up next season. He really has struggled under the weight of carrying us 2007-2009\. He deserves to play unhindered and really shine.

Its 4 months not 6 but fair call. Im sure they know what they are doing and Robbie will be fit and firing for round one

Rob's kicking game especially has clearly been impeded by a lack of fluency in his technique in 2011 - and for a bloke who kicked a 40-20 from dummy-half in his first handle in the top grade at Brookvale in 2003 - technique has never been an issue!!

His running game also took an undue hiatus over the middle of the season - and while he may have been "unhindered" as far as playing in pain - he was far from his best and the reason was then/ now obvious!

An 80% Robbie Farah is still one of the better hookers in the comp as he again proved this year so it wasn't worth early 2011 season surgery some suggested!!

But a 100% fit Rob is a match-winner in his own right and a great leader and I look forward to that (given this news) in 2012!!

Best of luck Robbie with the op and recovery. A fully fit Robbie in 2012 could be the extra we need to go a couple of steps further than this year. 😛ray:

does anybody know exactly what hes havin done to his groin

Apparently its minor groin surgery, so make of that what you will.

He said in an interview mid season the groin injury was no problem anymore :brick:

I reckon I could find a dozen plus postings of yours referring to that interview ink!

….. cannot even take it from the horse's mouth mate!!!

I too like to take the player's words in good faith - but experience has killed that!
