i am happy he is not playing, all the so called high priced players scream about burn out yet we play this crap game. there is no need for this game, unless u want to play one each for the irish, italians, greeks and all the others who get no headlines, the game is all about P Correctness.

It is not important football wise but is important for the Aboriginal community, whom in case you don't know the various types of football are an important avenue to provide role models etc. and a way out of hopelessness that is not strictly speaking their own fault. I think it also provides benefit for the Lebanese community whom unite around their tribal players. At least their ticket money is for NRL and not round ball. Accordingly there are Aboriginal and Lebanese teams but no Irish, Italian or Greek teams. It won''t be long before every NRL game they will be acknowledging the traditional owners of whom the oval is on.

You might as well gain some knowledge and find out which of the countries you listed above actually play the game at some level whilst you are getting paid to do bugger all.

I do though agree that this match has legitimacy.

Well didnt I open a can of whoopass this morning….

No one has mentioned the actual tickets he"won" was from his own charity auction nothing suss there...he can also sell the extra ticket for. $12k nice...or maybe he could take his bud JT...bonding time...or maybe he could donate the prize to a kid from the starlight foundation...

I don't care much for the All Stars game itself but he will now be missing a chunk of preseason when you the would be ramping it up....nice leadership...

Meh it's Robbie....

Robbie may have had the tickets or planning them before the leadership team was announced, maybe agreed to at that early date.

Leadership team or not, planning an overseas trip during the NRL pre season says a lot about his commitment. It says a lot about Pascoe aswell in my opinion.

When you look at the prices to only pay $15k AUD for 2 tix, airfares and accom for Superbowl that is an amazing deal. Tix and accom alone start at AUD $9474 per person and that is for the worst seats and basic accomodation (I would imagine these tix are not the worst). So this package alone would be worth $25k plus. Wonder if anybody else was allowed to bid or if it was even advertised at the charity function?

So generous of the leader to use his own money to pay below cost price for Im guessing an item which was donated to raise funds to benefit his charity…

Im praying whilst he is over there he meets up with Lodge and they go out and ring a few doorbells!

FYI if anybody is interested in seeing what packages cost http://www.astsports.com.au/super-bowl-2016/super-bowl-50

You must admit in that pic above without Robbie there they all sort of look lost - where is their leader, they ain't happy.

You may find that It was the training session at which Taylor had just informed them that Robbie was still going to play this season after all and thus their downcast appearance.

Byron, their leader and captain Aaron Wood is in the photo. I can't see Robbie who is now not their leader and never will be in the future.

I really hope to god management used this as a bargaining chip that he would leave in 2017\. It's the only thing that makes any sense to me.

For those that were blind to Robbie's faults have it clearly displayed here.

Might be a good thing for our culture for a few of the guys to lose some respect for Robbie TBH.

But poor Aaron looks as downcast the rest of them - never seen him like that when Robbie was around leading the charge.

That photo is from mid last season Meriton is still the sponsor and Lodge is in the pic Woods was not the captain then…it was just used to create the meme...

Every pic I've seen since Woods assumed the captaincy he has been happy and upbeat as has the rest of the squad...

Can't see the big deal about this.
Senior players from all teams often get cut some slack .
If he stayed home he'd more than likely be missing training anyway to train with the All Stars team.
Anybody know exactly how many training runs he will actually be missing…. :unamused:
Most likely would miss more if he got the flu .... but why should that stop another chance to bag him?
:deadhorse:

when announced I immediately thought of Tommy R boxing at the Opera House - no drama

actually there was too much drama
