Farah/Taylor Thread...

I don't know if dene is answer to start
But Farah off the bench is brilliant Farah has always been a attacking hooker. That does 60 tackles in state of origin because he is targeted as a weaker hooker. Then the old school Steve Walters style hooker defender

So keep him out of the fresh 20 min start and he can come on and do his best

I'm disappointed in Taylor that he didn't call out the disgusting officiating.

On Farah, great again. All we need is someone who can do the hard stuff for the first 20 till the heat that goes out of the game, then Farah comes on. It's a ploy that's working.

Robbie was great until he scored that try, then he went back to his overplaying old ways. Its like he's a child wjo cant control his excitement. As soon as he scored he decided to shut Brooks out of the game.

Yeah he seemed to be back playing for penalties from dummy half and really stunted us in my opinion

Almost like he seemed to think he needed to play for his SOO jersey …......maybe Daley has whispered in his ear

Just how I saw it anyway

Tactics are working out fine so far so you have to give credit to the coach and to Farah.

Farah played well and the team played well.

We were 14-2 down early which is a concern however responded very well to the amount of ball Penrith had in the game.

What we need is some consistency, we need to try and string 2-3 games together.

I thought Robbie was great but playing for penalties is the dumbest thing in the world. I didn't notice it in last nights game though.

I've also seen Moses do it.

No evidence of Farah stunting the attack in the last two games - quite the opposite.
Farah is by far and away our best option as hooker -is Dene our best option to start in that position - we got away with it yesterday but not convinced.

You are 100% correct. I can understand giving Robbie a rest because it's also SOO time but you'd like to think that the right decision is made at some point going forward.

I will eat some humble pie and say Farah is doing a great job for us. Once SOO is done, lets go back to playing Farah for 80 minutes and getting another power forward on the bench. If Farah is not playing 80 minutes, lets get Jacob Liddle playing some first grade with Farah mentoring him.

As much as I think it would be great if Robbie moved on…. Taylor should be giving Robbie the number 9 as a mark of respect, even if starting him from the bench.

Totally agree with your last sentence Hammer.

I like Dene, but he shouldn't be starting as hooker and as Hammer mentioned, Robbie should be wearing the No. 9 still.
The last 2 games we've been behind with Dene as hooker. As soon as Robbie comes on the team seems to lift and play better. We seem a better team with Robbie in it. :supporter:

Don't know what the score was when Farrah come on but he was part of us getting the win , the team seemed to,get going with him in it , I think Farrah starts , punt Dean , bring a felice or MCK onto the bench

We've won 2 in a row with Farah off the bench, why fix something that isn't broken?

i hated the farah on the bench decision but it's a smart decision. farah adds a lot in the 60 minutes and manages his workload well. dene adds a lot to our defence in the first 20 especially with the line speed.

JT however should always have a specialist hooker in the team. dene is not that.

Not to mention he has scored as many tries in his 2 games off the bench this year as he did all season last year.
Anyone who says the current formula isn't working is an outright clown or blind!!

I have been a staunch supporter of the club thus far - and all players in the organisation need to do what's best for the team. That said, Benching Farah is one thing - Sending him out in the number 16 Jersey is a touch much. If he sees out the rest of his contract with us from the bench, I have no issue with that…. He's done more than enough to deserve the 14 jumper I feel. Players get very attached to their numbers (They've earned them) If Farah isn't going to start - Or wear the 9... Then the 14 should be his - Hands Down!!

Don't agree batboy.

If your on the bench you deserve a bench number.

Like I said, tactics are working well so far. Give credit to Taylor for the plan and give credit to Robbie for playing really well.

You don't agree because you didn't read what I wrote….

I thought I did and do give credit to both those things... I just think he deserves a bit better than the number 16 on his back like he's some kind of fringe first grader.

All for Farah playing 60 minutes, but your kidding yourself if you think its working with halatau at hooker. 14-2 down, teams knowing all halatau will do is pass the ball. They rush at the halves giving them less time to play their hand. Either liddle or cherrington need to be there. If liddle is our future then cant see how playing him for 20 minutes would harm his development

I didn't mention Halatau…. But his winning stats at starting hooker this year don't lie.
