Farah to beat Smith

its easy to look good when you have a 2/3rds of your team internationals, IMO its alwys been close between farah and smith with smith getting the nod because the storm were so successful, now they have found out to be cheats they get no favours. im sure if you line up the stats farah would come out on top

i think prince will be picked aswell if thurston is out

Farah beats Smith in Supercoach more times than not, even with Smith kicking, so his raw stats have to be better..

statistics prove nothing to some on here no matter how much it proves them wrong

I still feel the Australian Jumper is the pinnacle of any Sport. The Best Players should always be picked. The Salary Cap Rort should have no bearing on selections. I also think its rediculous that the ARL dont recognise SL Tests. They were still wearing the Australian Emblem!!

I chatted to Darren Lockyer recently, and he talks about winning premierships as being one of the biggest achievements in the game. He rates Origin highly on achievments, but he relates playing/captaining Australia as his proudest moment. Everytime he stands thier and listens/sings the anthem, the emotion is the greatest…

Dont take that away through pride and passion!!!

Dally M Points so far…....

11 Darius Boyd (STI)
11 Issac Luke (SOU)
9 Todd Carney (SYD)
8 Petero Civoniceva (PEN)
8 Mitchell Pearce (SYD)
**8 Robbie Farah (WTI)**
8 Paul Gallen (CRO)
8 Nathan Friend (GCT)
7 Johnathan Thurston (NQL)
7 Benji Marshall (WTI)

4 Cmaeron Smith (MLB)

Indicates to me that Robbie Farah is the form hooker in the comp and I've been an advocate for years that form players should play rep football ahead of incumbants.

it indicates to me that some tigers fans are so biased…smith is miles ahead of farah for australian selection.....no wonder i couldnt give a toss about rep games ......

So the Team should include Darius Boyd, Todd Carney, Robbie Farah, Paul Gallen?

Spot on!! As it stands CURRENTLY Smith is ahead of Farah for this weekend's selections. Corruption and bias has always cheapened the Australian jersey. Even with Smith's goalkicking ability is a plus for Smith to get him over the line.
Stats and Dally M points are a load of crap in regards to showing the true form, Whereas Farah one week coud be the best IN A TEAM and get 3pts and Smith may be the best for Melbourne in the same week and only get 1pt due to another player in his team scoring a hattrick for example and getting the 3pts. Each game is judged by different people…
But some nuffies will use anything to back their stance..

But i hope Farah gets selected in front of that cap rorting cheat.

Hey crouching goose Smith is not the only player rorting the system, the difference is Melbourne got caught. I hope we do not have skeletons in our closet!

well smith is named there so that ends all specultation

Yeah it looks like you were wrong on both counts there Ron

Would have been farcical if Smith was dropped…..Farah needs to prove himself in Origin first. If some of you took off your tiger glasses you'd notice that during last years series, Farah was shut down by Smith who anticipated his every move. Whenever Robbie took a dart out of dummy half, Smith was all over him.

When it comes to rep footy Smith is miles in front.

what was i wrong on? i wouldnt swap farah for smith, farah offers more then smith does, if we were a top 4 team for the last 5 years and the storm were where we have been farah would be the aussie 9

He only offers more at club level…...thus far.

If he makes origin and kicks backside then he will have earnt his spot and I would be ecstatic for him. Good club form SHOULD NOT neccesarily earn you a test jumper...they should be hard to obtain and should be earnt by proving yourself through the various step-ups in game levels.

Test level football is below State of Origin level of football and until International Rugby League teams get to an NRL standard of playing it will always be that way

The standard of play in Origin is bigger but the prestige of earning and wearing your countries jumper far out weighs that of the state one.
Farah's game today just reinforced my claim. Smith would have gotten his side home today- not by trying too hard or coming up with a miracle play but by doing his job and doing it well.
