Farah to halfback?

Could this actually work with Marshall outside him?

I never liked him there but he was only trialled there when Marshall was out.

I should say that we looked TWENTY times better when he went to 7 late in the game.

Ive said for years Farah is a halfback. He's rarely played bad there. He is too slow out of dummy half and you can notice when he's in first or second reciever he's much more effective because he has more time. Look at how many good things he does from dummy half compared to how many he does from first reciever. The ruck is killing him because he refuses to adjust and is still playing like he did 5 years ago….he needs to adjust to the game or move to the halves..............hopefully at another club. Dont get me wrong, i rate Robbie as a player, but i think we'd be a happier (thereofre a more effective) club without his ego.

I think that it is a viable option however I wonder if Robbie could be a class player there. He lacks pace so he'd need a gun fullback and 5/8 (which we have) outside him. That plus his number one problem in my mind is his poor option taking. He plays Robbie first and the team second.

I think at hooker or halfback he can be a gun but he needs strict instructions and he needs to realize that Benji is so much better a player than him it isn't funny. When he figures this out and starts playing for the team he'll play origin.

Well in twenty minutes of playing 7 I saw alot more than what ive seen from Moltzen, Miller and Lui combined all year.

I was right - this is the night for crap threads!!!

We should NEVER try this again! Don't weaken an important position to try and strengthen another. Especially with no backup hooker in the squad anyway.

yep as mm said … has been tried numerous times to no effect ......let miller have a go at running the show ......

Farah is struggling to play his own position at the moment ..lets see if he can dominate in his own position at present!

We tried it when Farah had to partner John Morris. Give him Benji and see how he goes.

Wed hardly be loosing much compared to what weve seen of farah this year. His 20 minutes in the 7 was the best 20 minutes hes played all year. And he can still get into dummy half to create if he wants.

Yep. Can he pass it to benji as the first option though.

Yup that's my biggest concern as well.
If Fulton can squeeze into dummy half for some time and if Robbie can play halfback, it would be good.
Miller IMO is really good and the only Toyota Cup player who I reckon will surely make the transition.
I reckon play Farah at 7 until Miller is ready, then let Fulton go and Farah to 9 again.

6\. Benji
7\. Farah

That^ sounds dangerous.

Also, Lui and Moltzen are average halfbacks at best, but no.7 is one position which you can't have average players in. We have average wingers in Ryan and Brown, but idc if they are average, their job is much simpler than no.7's. Halfback is a very important position even if you have the world's best player playing 2nd receiver to you.

I would usually agree with everyone saying no.. But there is no metres to be gained in and around the ruck this year. Maybe while Marshall is out we get a hooker that gives good service to the forwards and let farah get creative on the fringes.

I think it could be worth a shot.

Waters to hooker.

The only guy I would put to hooker is Fulton bar Robbie because we can't afford to lose his (Farah) workrate in defence . Would help our defence on the fringes and decrease Robbie's tackle count .
Could be looked at but again we can't afford to keep switching 6,7and 9's combination week in week out They need to be building combinations now.
Lui's defence bar the deplorable misread for the first try was the best it has been all year imo
