Strange that confidential negotiations have found there way into the Media…If true the NRL should be having a close look at the new Clubs books...

Geo you and I both know there's a lot of rubbish spread about the media. Not surprisingly it tends to find its way on here and is usually incorrect.

In what way is this a surprise? Many of us have been saying all along this would be the outcome.

Thankyou Wests Tigers for putting the club, supporters and the game in general through this bullcrap for over a year now. Spend that 200k wisely….you've earned it!

Its no surprise…everyone knew this was coming

As for the figure, well..silly people rely on media speculation...we are all blind throwing darts as to the actual terms

The thing is, while the support for Robbie yesterday was enormous, Im sure when we are pushing or in the eight in the future, there'll be another 18/19k at LO cheering the boys on.
The club is always bigger than any individual and while its going to be an expensive exercise, the club know exactly what they want...wether its right or wrong remains to be seen

Yes , the Club (and coach) know what they want. However the way they have dealt with Robbie and Ado Carr and others has been embarrassing. As I turn up to work, the first comment was " didn't the WTs learn anything with the way they booted Sheens out?".

They dont embarrass me….people say theyre crap and i agree...hard not to...its my choice to support them and I guess when most of your workmates support them too I dont get what you cop...yes its been poorly handled, we are a pretty average organsation in most areas, always have been

So if they push Sironen out as well (which has been suspected for a while), we'll be playing close to $1mil under the salary cap just because of Taylor's personal vendettas.

It's extremely stupid salary cap management, whether we are successful and reach the top 8 next year or not. We're also going to have to re-sign Tedesco, Moses & Brooks next year, with all of them knowing the club treats it's long serving players like crap & without a marquee signing since Humphreys left the club. Is this really good management? Are Pascoe & Taylor just leaving it all for O'Neill to clean up?

Blame The previous Board and the previous CEO for the Farah saga ..JT inherited this mess

If true, so what? did people really think other clubs would fork out a fair chunk of money for him?

He's gone, new management at the club will not be doing back ended contracts and this should be the end of the inherited mess.

I agree Taylor has to go he is useless and has actively made players worse. Brooks's career hasn't just stalled, it's devolved. Kevvie was smashing people at the start of last year, now he looks like a retard chasing butterflies in defence. Simona looks confused. He used to get the ball and run scoring blistering length of the field tries. Now he tries to setup plays which he muffs consistently….the forward pack gets softer every month.

Taylor is a conman and is poison to this club.

But what about Moses, Tedesco and Sue? They have all improved this season whilst JT is the coach (I'll whisper it to you so no-one can hear). Is he as much to applaud for them improving as much as he is to be responsible for Brooks, Kev and Simona's supposed regression? Simona has played pretty well this season for the most part IMO and TBH Brooks hasn't shown much at all to match the hype since his debut. Not a huge fan of JT personally but blaming him for everything that goes wrong in our club is pathetic (not yourself but some fans in general on this one).

paying 750k is better than paying out 950k or having him sit in reserves for 2017 and all this crap going on for another 18 months ! ! !

im not so sure why some people are shocked.
getting him out of the club at any cost was the mission

now, the club and the coach should have no distractions or excuses at all, regardless of who anyone believes created them.

i believe 2017 is going to be a really tough year for this team.
hopefully we're all talking about the actual footy though !

Well thought out Bobo.
Plenty of nitwits seem to think it is preferable for WT to pay Robbie the whole 950k and have him playing in reserve grade (when he is not "injured") for the whole of 2017 instead of us at least getting 200k of cap relief for someone who was never ever gonna play 1st grade for us again.
It unfortunately got to the point where he had to be out of our club even if we didn't get a cent in compensation, that crap that lingered around our club for the last few weeks couldn't be sustained.
Loved Robbie as a heart and soul player for WT but for whatever reason he needed to go- our club should be a more unified unit in 2017 and beyond now that this is over. Here's hoping anyway.

The priority was the coach having the freedom to select his best team each week, which Taylor has now achieved for next season, any money that can be recouped from Farah is a bonus…

As terrible as all the Taylor haters suggest that we are, we were only 1 win from making the 8 and 3 wins off the total from our 2005 season... We improved from 15th to 9th with minimal change to our playing roster...

The funny thing is most of the evidence suggests that we are a team that is going to have a good year next year, yet you bury your heads in the sand, getting excited about sensationalised journalist stories, bagging Taylor about his coaching ability because of the way he comes across in press conferences and criticising him for the Farah situation, which you really know nothing about... Whereas, unless you are actually a part of the coaching staff, or one of the players, you dont have the first clue about whether he is a good coach, or about his role in the Farah situation... You just blindly form an opinion based on 2nd, 3rd and 4th hand information then defend it without any thought for alternative scenarios...

Guess you have to have ignorant people in life to appreciate those who arent...

Firstly Mods, can all current and future Farah topics be moved to the NRL page as he is no longer a Wests Tigers player. Thank you

Secondly whilst Farah got support there yesterday and people cheered his previous contributions to the club, considering he was never selected, the 'farewell' was never announced till the game was Sold Out, I really don't see how this mess will affect the Tigers club at all. It's our biggest Leichhardt crowd in years and came despite everyone knowing that Farah was not being picked.

So what if the club only saves $200k plus. Farah misses at least 6 games a year every single year, through injury, Origin, Stress Leave or that damn Mystery Virus… Just like any player he could go down in the first few minutes of the season and you are still carrying that amount in your salary cap.

JT deserves the 3rd year. No Finals no extension. There will be plenty of coaches looking for a gig so you could theoretically wait till Rd 26 next year. People seem to have focused on Farah and forgotten about how many other problems we had, how much talent Taylor had to dispose of just to make us salary cap compliant and yet after all those cuts we made 9th. Absolute pass mark. Yes the Farah crap could have been handled better, but it wasn't. Sheens warned us when he got the punt, Potter tried his best, Taylor actually did it.

If anyone thinks that having Farah there this year would have led us to the finals, can you please outline why in the last 4 years with Farah as captain we finished 10th, 15th, 13th, 15th? What a leader of men!

Do you seriously believe that Farah was the cause of us coming where they did , or didn't you see any of the games during that period. We had a pack as soft as we do now if not worse.
With a few exceptions we had players occupying spots that would not get a game anywhere else. A bit like now.
Farah and a couple of others carried some of the most ordinary players in the NRL. Over that time.
I doubt that anyone could have done better than he did as a captain.
He could only play one position.at a time.
Even most of the knockers have admitted that he has put in for this club every time that he ran on to the field. Which is a lot more than some of the players that he was surrounded by can say
A captain cannot turn Crap players into stars.especially when he's busy making up for the tackles that are being missed by lazy forwards
He earned his money , which is more than a lot of our players over the years can say.

IMO Robbie only agreed to walk away for $200K less as he was promised chance to have send off he deserved at leichhardt oval yesterday. he didn't want to finish up in reserves next year just for the money and walk away without opportunity of fans thanking him & showing their appreciation for the 12-13 years of dedication he gave.

Yep….agree with both

I get a laugh when the Farah lovers keep bringing the money aspect into the argument for the demise of there hero !
If an organisation is willing to pay out $750k to rid itself of an employee what does that tell you about the employee? ..750k is chicken feed on the total outlay of the whole club pa.
I am sure that figure is way of the mark just another figure pulled out of a hat to sell papers !
Farah has been punted …yes all the Farah lovers not for the money ,the ego maniac is gone long live the Weststigers

What they expected to rake in when they first started this debacle, is probably nowhere near what they eventually got. Mainly because ot their own bungling of the whole thing.
They stood to save money for TWO years at that stage, and I'd be surprised if they only wanted to save 250 k per year.
They stuffed it and saved NOTHING this year, and if the amount that everyone is saying,
Have been rolled again by Ayoub for next Years Contract, and deservedly so.
It was the most embarrassing , unprofessional knifing of a player that I've ever seen.(and I've seen a few)
The reputation of the club, has been damaged and the way that they do business will be in the back of players and their Managers minds for a long way to come.
Their ham fisted attempt has also shown that they really had no idea of how to do what they wanted to do. Although in defence of the Club, they probably thought that Taylor was more capable of handling the situation than he obviously was.
Him and his Mate Reddy turned what should have taken a couple of months.
into a year of turmoil for the club, Supporters , And Players.

Then saved the paltry amount of 250k over the last two years of his contract

Hardly enough to cover the afternoon teas at Marina's with the Taylors and the Pascoe's for the next year( it the "coach" makes it that far)
Good one WTs,

There was talk the club were willing to pay his whole salary when it first erupted last yr, so maybe money wasn't the factor, maybe they just wanted him gone.

I wouldn't mind betting one of the reasons this blew up again was due to Farah's comments at Origin time. The issue had been put to bed, then he had to drag it up yet again and took a shot at the club by saying he wouldn't be helping out with Tedesco. Then he comes back and is dropped. Coincidence?

Not sure where you heard that one from,( the full payout) as that one would have got plenty of attention,
Maybe after a few coldies
Why would they have to threaten him with reserve grade, if they were going to simply pay him out.
Hilarious, one of your best!

Just one question, if they wanted to pay him out fully, why bother threatening him with reserve grade?
Hilarious.

Idk, maybe because Farah dug his heels in and didn't take them up on the offer?
