Farah

It was stated somewhere here that Farah admitted as much at the post match presser. Does anyone know what he said exactly as I can't find it anywhere.

I wonder how much of it was due to him being sick all week and how much is due to his age and a history of injury starting to take their toll

Has to learn to be a team player but I doubt that will happen now! Brooks has no chance with Farrah calling the shots .
Same old same old wrong decisions ,bad kicking and this is making him look pretty average!

Sounds familiar. Didn't we have a young first grade halfback who became so frustrated he left to play in U.K?.

What u talking about theres only 1 Farah in this team he doesn't pass to himself to call all the shots brooks didn't step up and he needs to if he wants to play first grade . Farah only steps in when our team needs him and when no one is bringing it and unfortunately it didn't pay off. Farah will be right next week fitter and healthier and something to prove and when he does you can eat your words. His our captain we need to stick by him god knows the coach is on thin ice

Well there's some home truths about him that we all need to face. Like it or not.

Eat our words? What can he do next week to make our criticism of his efforts in yesterday's game wrong? Nothing - what's done is done.

We'll all be glad if Robbie kills it next week but the criticism is justified, some fans need to realise this he was attracting it pretty often last season too.

This would be the same one who now can't get a game in the UK, right? I think he was frustrated because he didn't get picked much, which was because he wasn't very good.

If Brooks is as good as everyone says he'll be fine. Plenty of young playmakers have come into sides with dominant senior players, and found their own way.

**What does he consistently do for us?**

He tries his butt off. Then again he overplays his hand a lot of the time and telegraphs most of his plays.

**Is he worth the money?**

Impossible question to answer really.
Top players in his position are a hot commodity nowadays. It's simple supply and demand. He may not have the class of Cam Smith but that's nothing new. He's the next best. For this reason, IMO, Farah should probably be in the second tier of NRL's top wage earners. Ultimately this is a moot point anyway cos you're worth what you can get at the time.

**Does he hinder the development of our young cubs?**

No.

Anyway, we are all a bit disappointed because we know that Robbie really is a much better player than he showed on the weekend. IMO he would need to play a string of games like that in a row for me to be concerned at all. He really wasn't that bad guys. He is just guilty of trying too hard sometimes. At least he has the skill and ability to rectify that. (Unlike Anasta.) I think we'd all love to see Robbie revert to the play of mid 00's where he was quicker out of the ruck and played 3rd or 4th fiddle in attack (to Prince, Benji and Hodgson). If Brooks gets a grip on the team and we get a good 5/8 foil for him then we will see Farah chill out a bit.
And here we get to my point….
I just think that Anasta may very well be the reason why Farah overplays his hand a lot of the time nowadays. Farah is forced to become the 2nd play-maker because he probably has more faith in hims own play-making ability than he does in Anasta.... and rightly so. Thus, why don't we just direct our frustration towards management for sticking with Anasta - the guy is utter garbage at 5/8 and has NO potential to improve. Get Austin/Sironen/Moses in at 5/8 and let Anasta warm the bench. He at least has solid utility value.

Personally I support Robbie 100%. I am confident he is the player to lead our side and I see no better option. If we are to improve, remove Waste Anasta from the 17 and put Blair back to prop. Brooks needs time and the team needs to learn how to protect him. What does concern me is our kicking game so that is what we should be addressing for next week. We have more size than last year just need to play smarter and utilise it. Why Thompson and Fulton would start a game is beyond me. Woods may be better at lock for a while to get more out of our bench rotation and allow BMM to come into the side.

One thing fairly obvious with Farah's game lately is that he just doesnt look happy.

I cant remember the last time he looked like he was having fun.

He was a fantastic player when he enjoyed himself.

When he wasn't captain?

I know what your saying, I never see a smile.

He has been a very good player for a long time. However, as with all of us he is not getting any younger. Fatigue leads to bad decisions and he has made plenty of those lately.

Give him a rest for 20 or so during the game and give his heir apparent an intro to first grade.

PS. Tell him to leave Brooks to play his own game. His time is now and Farah's time was yesterday.

This commentary against the NSW captain is unbelievable.

Farah would be arguably the only one (besides Woods, Fulton and Blair) that actually gives a damn about defending out there, scrambling, slowing the play down.
Watching the game live it looked like he was less involved on Sunday and distributed to Brooks a lot more than had been previously criticised.

Our kicking game around the park was ordinary. Anasta was non existent.
Our go forward was slow and predictable, maybe he is guilty of not leading the team around in that respect.

But to criticise a player who made 40+ tackles in that heat is a joke.
He's probably upset because he busts his arse and is surrounded by a bunch of pea hearts who turn to water when the chips are down,

Is he worth the money - Of course
Does he hinder development? - Of course not

The equation for Robbie is quite simple. He needs to play hooker. Not halfback, not five eight, just hooker. He over complicates significantly and is going to make it twice as hard for Brooks to develop as a first grade halfback. I wish he'd just take a step back in attack and show some faith in our halves instead of trying to do it all himself.

The concern with Farah is taking away the bigger problem with this team - Braith Anasta. Since he began with Wests Tigers he has always been selected by Potter in the top 13\. What's the betting that he will be selected in the 17 this afternoon?

Robbie didn't have one of his best games but he still managed to come up with over 40 tackles on a stinking hot day after being in hospital on a drip for most of the week… and some of you are wondering why he wasn't looking too happy.
If you don't like him or think he's overrated fair enough- but to all the 'experts' who want to advise a current SOO and Test player on how to improve his game I would ask you to line up outside the entrance gate at the next game you attend , call him over , and offer a few quiet words of wisdom in his ear.
I'm sure he would appreciate your concerns and take everything on board.

I think Robbie needs to look at our clubs most successful years. He played a crucial role of getting fast play the balls, darting from dummy half and backing up in the middle. What we donot need for him is to be a playmaker getting the ball as 1st or 2nd reciever…...we have other players for that. I think at times he tries to do too much and no one can do it all.
Obviously as we are not going all that well in the last year or two he probably feels he needs to do more , but he should just concentrate on doing his job well and others need to stand up.
Take a leaf out of Cameron Smiths book.

farah trys to hard thinks he can control every part of the game which is destroying the team.
Last year brooks won man of the match guess what farah didn;t play in that game that tell me a lot .

Its a sad state of affairs when another club legend is attacked on a "fan" forum when we lose. Especially when said player tries his guts out to get the result for us.

The bloke did not have a run all last week due to illness and he was noticeably a few steps short of full fitness. That said, he produced over 40 tackles and scored a try on a hot day when most seemed to give up. He loves this club and almost has to crawl off the field after every game.

I agree that he needs to simplify his game….KISS should be his mantra. However he has a teenage half who got lost on the weekend and needed a hand. The player who should have stepped in was Anasta. He failed to and as the great clubman Rob is, he tried to fill the breach. It did not work this time around. To say he is hampering Brooksey's development is a lie. Brooks has played 2 top level games. He needs a hand, he needs guidance. He will come good but that time is still way off.

Farah is probably overplaying his hand, but someone has to.
