Farah was woeful today. If he's injured-get rid of him and get a fit player in there. If he isnt fit-then he needs a kick in the backside because he has been woeful all season, but today took the cake…..his worst game for the Tiges EVER....disgraceful.

He was bad wasn't he.

For a couple of seasons though I have thought he really needs to step up. I think it was 2007 and he was a gun but since then he seems to have lost that ability.

**I don't know what is wrong with him** but he comes up with real bad plays and doesn't bust open games at the same time. Recently (this season) the dud plays have disappeared however the ability to bust a game open has also gone.

You look at Orford - he was a gun. He is now terrible. I hope Robbie gets it back together and he hasn't lost it.

I remember Benji being inconsistent but he would win us games. Robbie doesn't do that. He just seems like an average first grader that you keep waiting for to step up a level but he doesn't do it.

Tell me youre joking.

Farah plays down groin issue

Wests Tigers skipper Robbie Farah has played down the severity of his groin problem and insists it will not keep him out of action, despite his inability to train.

Farah has been nursing the injury all season but said he felt no discomfort during the game and refused to use it as an excuse for his side's under-par display in their 24-6 defeat to Sydney Roosters on Sunday.

"I got through the game fine, I didn't train a lot through the week, but I was fine out there," Farah said.

"We will see how I pull up, everybody went a bit overboard with what was said in the papers before the game, but it doesn't bother me during the games, but it is a case of will it become an issue not training for a few weeks.

"I'll speak to Tim and see what happens, but it is not affecting me.

"I don't think we could have played any worse than we did in the first half, we got ourselves in game but poor options at the back of the sets let us down."

Sheens said he'd been using back-up hooker George Ndaira during training to give Farah time to recover and said he had full confidence in allowing his skipper to play the full 80 minutes.

"He is watching what is going on in training and we run a replacement which is a bonus, we knew what we were doing when we went out, we were confident … but you have to be tough enough to defend and we weren't today," Sheens said.

"Some of our options at the back end of our sets were good, we lacked a bit of direction but I am not going to offer up any excuses, at 12-6 we had enough ball to win the game, but we missed a simple tackle midfield and gave up a try to put the 12 points between us again."

Sheens defended his decision to play with Tim Moltzen at halfback after originally naming rookie playmaker Jacob Miller in the starting line-up.

The 18-year-old dropped to the bench but Sheens said he was pleased with the contribution he made when he came on late in the game.

"Timmy has got the experience and is a very quick halfback, I suppose he needed the run, today he got 80 minutes under his belt for the first time in 12 months, we'll see next week whether he will stay or give Jacob a run," Sheens said.

"I spoke to Jacob before the game and told him he may not get a game ... but I rate the kid and at some stage he will play more, but we needed experience on the field."

Bryce Gibbs returned for the Tigers for the first time since round 23 last year, but Sheens played down reports England international Gareth Ellis would be back from an ankle injury for next week's clash with South Sydney.

"There is no-one who I have been told will be back, Gareth won't be ready next week, no chance," he said.

ok sounds like to me farah expects not to have to train again this year and just 80 minutes each week will cut it for fitness there was a reason marshall got no ball today it was farah being selfish trying to impress origin selectors

That'll do me. Farah was one point away from winning the Dally M award last year and represented Australia. :crazy

I expect a lot from him. He can be a gun but I really think he is letting us down. I don't know maybe it is because at one point he was better than Benji. Now he is so far from being at that level it isn't funny.

Maybe I should judge him based on how he plays rather than what I expect.

yes willow all correct but this year his forms down and to use his words on the injury situation he isnt training but seems to think 80 minutes on sundays will cut it each week and today was an absolute joke with benji being starved of possession so farah could go on an origin impressing charade to the detriment of his sides chances was a complete disgraceful joke.the amount of times farah went from dummy half near the tryline or purposely went the opposite side of marshall was a joke.not to mention his bomb from dummy half ten metres out that went out over the in goal on the full without telling anybody ws a disgrace. All this from the guy as you say willow who played for australia and was 1 pt off the dally m medal last year the guys obviously not right to play.he needs the surgery now otherwise he could get a season ender in the next few weeks and stuff the team right up.

I'm not arguing he was poor yesterday and looks like he needs surgery, but to put the boot into a bloke who clearly is one of the best players in the game when fit is not necessary.

Leader puts off surgery as Tigers battle injury count
Glenn Jackson - SMH
April 4, 2011

DESPERATE times call for desperate measures, so in a bid to ward off groin surgery, Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah might opt for an injection of his own blood.

Farah revealed yesterday he was considering platelet-rich plasma therapy. His groin problem was upgraded from tendinitis to osteitis pubis last week.

Farah consulted surgeon Neil Halpin last week, and will decide on his next step based on how he recovers from yesterday's 24-6 loss to the Roosters. He appears to have three options: immediate surgery, which would sideline him for about six weeks; play on with a vastly reduced training program; or have the PRP therapy, which has helped golfer Tiger Woods in the past.

Advertisement: Story continues below ''They reckon [PRP] helps, so there's a few options before I think about surgery,'' Farah said.

Doctors take a small vial of a patient's blood and spin it in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma. Then they inject the plasma at the site of the injury. Doctors believe this accelerates healing.

Farah said yesterday he wanted to avoid surgery partly because of the huge injury toll at the club.

Centre Chris Lawrence (hip), halfback Robert Lui (ankle), winger Lote Tuqiri (arm) and second-rower Gareth Ellis (ankle) are the most notable absentees among 11 of the club's 33-man top squad.

''Obviously that's a big issue for us,'' Farah said. ''I spoke to [coach Tim Sheens], and as long as I can keep going while all those boys are out … Hopefully I pull up all right and just keep going.

''I'll try and go all year if I can, and get it done in the off-season. If it does become a problem, I'll get it done.''

Despite their poor showing yesterday, the Tigers appear to have avoided suffering any more losses.

Five-eighth Benji Marshall was limping after a heavy tackle by Mose Masoe, and admitted afterwards he had been carrying a knee problem all season.

''I'll be right,'' Marshall said. ''It's just something that's been playing up a bit from last year.''

Farah said he would speak to Sheens this week about his own predicament. ''It's not that bad,'' he said. ''Everyone just got a bit carried away.

''I've been managing it fine, but after the Canberra game [in round three], for some reason, I pulled up a bit more sore than I have been. I went and saw Neil Halpin just for an opinion, to see what my options were.

''I'm fine playing but I just didn't want it to become an issue towards the back end of the year.

''It's just weighing up whether I think we can keep it under control, or we're better off getting the surgery done now, so I'm fine for the back end. [Halpin] said it's not like I can do any more damage or anything like that.

''I'll speak to Tim and the medical staff and see what happens. It's not hindering me at all on the field.''

Sheens played down Farah's lack of training. ''He's watching what's going on, and we're running a replacement,'' Sheens said. ''That's probably a bonus for us down the track if we do lose him.''

There appears to be no immediate respite for the depleted Tigers.

Ellis is expected to return in the short term from his ankle problems but Sheens said he would not be fit for Friday night's clash with South Sydney. ''There's no one that I've been told [who will be fit to return],'' Sheens said.

You know what I heard Farah interviewed and he said the injury does not affect him in games…i agree with you Tigers 05 he is sadly out of form...injured groins do not make you make dumb decisions on the field....Robbie had a few yesterday...I hope he gets his mojo back soon....

I think a lot of people are misguided if they think once Farah gets the surgery he will immediately come back to his best.

I don't think playing with a groin injury causes you to make bad decisions and fall off one on one tackles. I'm a huge fan of him, and I think he's the best 9 in the game when at his best. Unfortunately, he is out of form. Yes, the injury doesn't help, but his form is the main issue IMO.

It's possible there is a lack of cohesion between him and the others given that he hasn't been able to train with the injury, and if it turns out that may be the main factor, then he should probably get the surgery.

I'm sure Sheens will figure out the best solution.

Interesting, well, hmmm, hope they make a decision quickly cause I felt he stifled our attack somewhat yesterday.

I can see what Robbie is trying to do, we need him because of all the players we have out and he wants to hold off until we get some players back, but is it worth it if we are losing anyway and hes a liability?

Not really as physical a sport as Rugby League.

Robbie needs to take his own health into consideration aswell, just go the smart option and get the surgery

This sounds about right.

so i guess Robbie isn't having his surgery this week. wouldn't this week be best because:

1\. we already have so many players out;
2\. it would hurt alot the team/club alot more if he had it later because its just the start of the season, 4 games down, 20 to go. not includng finals! ( oh we'll be there :sign: )

whatcha think?

Guys Robbie will have the op. after the Titans game. He will miss 2 weeks before the Bye and the 2 games after it.Was told this today at Concord during press conference for Souths game.
