Yep life is a cruel entity at times…It wont be of any consolation now but down the track he will be able to look back at this week and know that she joined in on his sucess of Wednesday night before she went. Sad news.

RIP Mrs Farah.

This is an absolute tragedy and my condolences go out to Robbie and his family during this incredibly difficult and emotional time. RIP.

Condolences to Robbie and his family during this difficult time, I hope that he takes the time he needs to recover from such a tragic loss.

Farah's mother dies after cancer battle

AAP Sun, Jun 17, 2012 - 2:26 PM

NSW State of Origin star Robbie Farah's mother died in a Sydney hospital on Sunday after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Wests Tigers captain Farah was withdrawn from Sunday's NRL match against the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval where a minute's silence was planned in memory of his mother Sonia Farah.

The Tigers players were to wear black armbands.

Sonia Farah was taken to hospital on Wednesday after suffering a health setback and was unable to be at ANZ Stadium to watch her son play perhaps the best match of his career in NSW's series-levelling win over Queensland.

His mother's battle with cancer had been a source of inspiration for Farah this season after she was first diagnosed while he was with the Australian squad on the Four Nations tour to Britain last year.

Agree with all, sad to hear. not sure what the disease was but her health has been a worry for a long time iirc and at a stage knowing plenty of my family members, they all wanted to go away from the pain. hope she didn't have to suffer a lot and condolences to the Farah family.
