Wests Tigers must release Mitchell Moses to Eels for everyone’s sake

WESTS Tigers fans should be ashamed.

And if the club’s management has an ounce of respect left for Mitchell Moses it should grant him an immediate release to join Parramatta.

Moses was subjected to the ultimate act of cowardice on Saturday night. It is alleged that a full can of beer was thrown at the departing local junior after the game at Leichhardt Oval.

The incident prompted an immediate and furious response from Cronulla forward Andrew Fifita.

The Tigers released a statement yesterday in which they said they were working with police and “do not condone crowd disturbances, or the throwing of objects on to the field”.

But surely chief executive Justin Pascoe and chairwoman Marina Go must take charge today and bring about peace to what is obviously an increasingly hostile situation.

Moses should be granted a release for the sake of everyone involved.

Fans were also spotted holding disgusting banners at the game that included “Woods is a dog”, “Tedesco is a cock”, “No Dogs on the bus” and labelling Moses “slimy”.

How can you attempt to justify this type of behaviour?

While the fans’ frustration is understandable, they need to take a look at other clubs. There aren’t similar scenes facing other departing players such as Cronulla’s Jack Bird, Melbourne’s Cooper Cronk or Brisbane’s Ben Hunt.

This comes just a week after Pascoe and Go attempted to calm the growing anger with another statement asking fans to be more positive after Aaron Woods was booed before his man-of-the-match performance against Canterbury.

What do you guys think? Some people calling for serious sanctions lol

Release all 3 of them. Don't stop with Moses. If the Roosters and Dogs can find room for the other 2 this year, send them on their way.

Booing is fine, if you don't agree, that's tough. This is Australia, not North Korea. People are free to express themselves verbally. Throwing cans is crossing the line.

I agree with the article that throwing cans is not acceptable and the person who did it should be met with punishment, although Paul Crawley has made it out as if all Tigers fans are like this. "Wests Tigers fans should be ashamed". As if Mitchell Moses shouldn't be? He doesn't deserve an ounce of respect, as he hasn't shown us an ounce of respect. Things happen, people do stupid things but the whole Tigers fanbase should not be held responsible for this, and Mitchell Moses should not be victimised as there are 33 other players present on the field, yet the can was directed at him for a reason. Also, booing should not be prohibited, we deserve to have our feelings heard by the irrelevant 3

They should be ashamed if they release a 5/8 without someone better than JLJ to replace him.

Correct me if Im wrong but arnt the majority of you lot the same who were outraged at JT being booed at last year. Seem to remember whole a thread on it.
Anyone who continues to stir this up and has a crack at others for disrespecting the club should have s good long look in the mirror. It needs to stop now especially when most of you dont rate those players in question now anyway
This is not doing the coach any favours in trying to get the best out of this team for the remainder of the season and neither does it help in recruiting new players. Let it go.

So my boo's on the weekend are why the team lost and it's also causing us to struggle with recruiting players ?

Righto !

What about all those who defended JT being booed and condemned Woods being booed? Goes both ways.
