Doubt it. He's doing the ol' price drive up strategy.

agreed.

but they might be able to offer him more through wallabies or something?

although, roos get paid more nowadays…

I know he played when younger, but I'm just trying to work out what RU position Fafita could play at an elite level?

Front row requires exceptional scrummaging technique and isn't something you'd pick up quickly.

He's too short for 2nd row and whilst quick enough to play back row, I don't think he would have the stamina to be the next Keiran Read or David Pocock.

number 8 i would imagine would suit fifita in union

Would be the most likely, but I'm not convinced he has the motor.

Union has speed up a lot in the past 18 months, and some of the breakaways in todays game will leave him for dead.

Hard to believe the ARU are spending big money on League Forwards though?

they want him to play 8, rugby approached him, Fifita "considering" the offer may be for bargaining purposes.
I think he could be useful as a ball carrying forward in the Cliffy Paulo mode

He has enough motor to outpace Farah and step around Tedesco - think he'd kill it as a Wallaby.

don't confuse 'motor' with the ability he has shown with ball in hand. From set pieces, he will kill them, but there isn't an Interchange in RU and he will be required to play for 50-60min straight.

There was a long interview with on the foxsports website yesterday. Said he always dreamed of playing for the wallabies and played rugby for a long time growing up. Had a coffee with Ewen Mackenzie and apparently a number of Super franchises are after him for 2015.

He said his priority was to stay with the Sharks, but he also had to do what's best for his family. So who knows… Said he'd make a decision by march, before the NRL season starts.

i'm sure that won't be his biggest problem. he will have played 50-60 minutes straight many times for the sharks i'm sure…

Who cares? The minute I hear about a player thinking about switching codes, I zone out. Go or don't go, we can do without the speculation.

They only go to rugby for the ARU-infused contracts or touring/world cup anyway.

Haven't missed a single code-switcher to date… and they always come skulking back.
