How else do you explain that pathetic game other then players deliberately tanking and tarnishing the WestsTigers brand while doing so.

Maybe not the whole team, but certainly a few were tanking today. Compare both rosters, and there is no way this team loses by such a margin, regardless of injuries. I have never seen Luke Brooks so emotionless and indifferent any any other game. It’s like he knows he won’t be there next year.

Initial thoughts is yes, tanking. You can't play like that if you respected your coach.

But then I look at our team, especially tonight. If any one of them was on the opposition side, would I be worried?

Stef the only one, but hes a meter gainer not a game breaker. There's no one in our team that can make something happen.

Laurie the closest if we're looking at injured players, and maybe AD - but even then, both not terrifying IMO.

That was embarrassing.

When, 10 - 0 down:
We forced a dropout, our players walked around to congratulate each other rather than getting back into position. We started the set on our own 35m, then dropped the ball because we forced a pass in the line, and conceded another try to the wooden spooners.

Luke Brooks is hard to dislike, but his chip kick is predictable and ineffective. He lacks variation, and doesn't take the ball to the line anywhere near enough anymore.

Our team is busted people. We looked like a bunch of kids against the worst team in the comp today.
Our Centre of Excellence should be given a temporary name until we can make the top 8.

its been pretty obvious for the last 10 rounds, these players aren't playing for Madge. It is glaringly obvious. My fear is that we still wont change anything in the club review. Sometimes, the change to the unknown is exaclty what needs to occur. Nothing will change if we don't do anything.

Results of the review will be - We Suck and have no viable solution to fix our suckiness...

The suckers will probably do the review, what makes them think they know reviews any better than they know football. They just need to walk.

On field performance has declined rapidly since he became Chairman back in 2019.

But considering he pays the bills, I'm a dreamer thinking he'd ever relinquish the position...

I admit to thinking about the tank during the game but I don't believe it's fair to accuse the team as a whole of tanking. Several players put in effort but there was simply no cohesion in defence or leadership in attack. Madden had a go but wasn't up to the task, and Brooks had already started his holiday. Stefano, Luciano, Blore, Nofoaluma, Liddle, Maumalo, Talau, Twal and Amone all put in, so I wouldn't call them out for tanking. Just not up to it without leadership.

No heart nor pride in their individual or team performance. Tanking? Maybe?
What worries me the most is the talk of individuals not turning up, playing tough all that stuff and blame Maguire. I don’t think a WT team has played tough for…… who knows. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s the coach…… it seems like it’s in the bones of the club…… I honestly don’t know the answer but very few players we have or had seem to bleed for the club or for themselves or each other like they do elsewhere and I don’t believe we have for a long long long time……..

I think the only way forward is to keep madge. Make a point of backing the coach over the playing group who think they are bigger than the club. Get rid of brooks, we need a chirpy aggressive half. Sign Thompson or another enforcer prop and rip in.

Our defense on the edges is terrible. Our attack is limp, and our attention to detail in non-existent. There were at least five players on that pitch today who would have burnt more calories playing Nintendo Wii.

Exactly right mate. Who on earth is going to make a line break in that team? Our best chance was Simpkin coming off the bench against a tired ruck but that didn't work out. The comination was well out (Yes we missed Mbye out he back). Even miss Garner running some lines on the edge.

I posted in the live game thread about this being a possibility. As apparently Brooks n Madge dont get on, so would not suprise me that Brooks made sure he played crap to get rid of Madge.
Honestly Brooks fifth tackle options are shocking. I am a fan of Madge but think both he n brooks should move on especially Brooks.
brooks can't ice a game, can't put pressure on teams and just needs a change as do the tigers
