Finals week 1, 2025 discussion

I thought Hynes was excellent tonight. He plays fast and gets players into good spots around him. He's not an especially threatening runner but his creativity and kicking game are really good and means he's a tricky player to oppose. He's not amongst the very best halves but not having paid much attention to the Sharks I'm surprised he cops so much based on what I saw against the Roosters.

Was really good to see Roosters get knocked out straight away, despite the big turnover of players they have a very talented roster and have underachieved in my opinion.

i think the Roosters have done well to be honest, 5 rookies in their current 17, two of them in the spine

Improvement will come with the development of Sam Walker, not sure why they are signing DCE

Wish we could fail like they do.
I would shudder to think how we’d respond if we lost the calibre of talent they did.
The only issue they have is whether their premier players can hold form long enough for their young guns to mature to the required level and join them to win another title.

Today’s winner will be clear favourites I think. Broncos I think would benefit more from the week off. Would give Reynolds an extra week. Not sure what the status on Mam is. I read season, but who knows how reliable that is.

The media is hammering on about Marky Mark's great attacking play but they didn't mention how he was out of position in Ronaldo's two tries that turned the game. If he's to play for Australia, they need to fix that up.
I only watched the highlights this morning, that second try was like they had no winger. But they used to the same with Nofa.

Both Utoikamanu and Papali’i played solid games, good to see, because it proves their desire to play finals footy was genuine. They lifted for their respective clubs.
