Financial situation of the clubs

@Geo with the new COE , only a percentage of the overall cost is coming from the government. I’m not sure , but wasn’t it 20 mil ? And didn’t Pascoe say the COE would cost 50 ? Where is that money coming from , as I’m pretty sure the Tiggers don’t have 30 mil lying around . I do agree with your overall idea though . If you reduce costs , most owners tend to want you to hit tjay budget for the next financial year .

It is completely funded by Council and the State government.

@Cultured_Bogan I agree the club should be self reliant, and with some real success on field I see no reason why it can not be .

It really is without the success, imagine how good it could be with a few competitive seasons.

Cheers for the link. Im actually surprised we're as high as 9th in spending. But why isn't WA contributing anymore? A couple of mill a year and we're spending similar to souths and the chooks.

I think is the goal of the Wests Tigers to be self reliant!

Yeah, that's often stated but I'd rather an onfield goal as a priority.

Anyone going to give Pascoe kudos for Tigers running a profit this year, two years in a row? One of only 8 sides and only the second Sydney team.

I would but have the 2019 figures been released yet?

@colinbh
I don't play them. I used to in my youth and stopped after I saw it ruining lives of normal hardworking people.
They used to be limited to clubs but once pubs started getting pokies is when the trouble started.

Think of Balmain and all the inner city suburbs that had a pub just about on every corner. Ultimo, Glebe, Rozelle and all the pubs surrounding the CBD.
It was everywhere all of a sudden and sucked lots of normal people in.

Addiction is the only way the government can run this country.
Soon they will legalise weed and hand another taxed vice onto the people.
