Slow today guys but some good ones and yes caught a bream on weed it happens occasionally.
A couple of nice outings during the last week RHS. What length of stick are you using off the stones?
I was up at Port Douglas last week. Fished Tinaroo Dam in the Atherton Tablelands for Barra during the daylight hours and came up empty. Fished the Daintree River and landed a couple of nice javelin grunter. Dropped a really nice Barra after I dragged her out of the snags. Not a metrey but would have been in the eighties. Spat the lure at the death. Guess that's fishing! Keep up the great work off the stones mate.

Rockhopper, how do you get your pic files small enough to attach here ?
I'm old and barely PC literate, so go easy young fella !
I imported from my phone to computer and put it in any other folder than my pictures, for some reason the my pictures folder increases the size and the forum server can't handle the size of it.

So any other folder worked for me, just copy and paste.

I use a 13ft-6 Wilson lightweight one piece, fairly old don't know if they still sell them but they are a good stick, you need the length for the rocks.

Lots of seagulls around when I'm fishing don't talk to them, but they are always making a racket at me when cleaning the fish, you never seen anything so happy to squabble over a mouthful of fish guts.

Also at least one sea eagle swoops down for a fish head, there is a lot of them living in the close by bush tall trees.
The seagulls always annoy me… they eye the bag of pilchards lol

I was at the cleaning table with a stunning bag of whiting a few years ago.
I'm talking 9 or 10 whiting all between 38 and 44cm. Absolute donkeys.
A lurking pelican took advantage of me bending down to pick up my knife and got the best meal of his life.
I applauded his cunning and timing and let him waddle off with a 40cm whiting.

That's the 4th Bream over 42cm I have caught around the Double bay area in the past month.

Nice. Last year there a stack of big ones up my way. Almost impossible not to bag out every time I went. TBH still sick of eating them 🙃
You 2 are blessed can't find a good spot for bream up here at Caves only producing 2/3 per trip.
But talking Luderick and Drummer that's my specialty, clean up those species.

I'd love to get into the drummer! Had some great fights with them in the Gong n Jervis Bay. Make great fish n chips to boot.
Nambucca Heads headland is often too rough for good fishing.

Excellent eating around the 4/6-pound mikey biggest one I landed was 12 pound let it go the big ones are a lot tougher and sometimes full of worms.

But talk about fight and dirty they go straight for safety of the rocks, you can't give them an inch, drag done up tight feels like you have a Marlin on lol.

12 pounds is a wild boar!
I bought a heavy wrap low mount rod rock rod 30 plus years ago that drummer treated like it was a pipe cleaner. Caught some great fish with it over the years but now it makes my back ache if I use it too much.
Getting too old n soft 😪
