Mentally unfit for sure .

Always have been, yet no one seems to ever address it. Their self belief is extremely fragile and always has been. They can hold it for a while in a match, when everything is going their way, but as soon as the going gets tough, they turn to water. You can count on one hand, the number of times they have actually held onto their self belief for a full game in the past 5 or so years. And every player that has joined us during this time has fallen into the same fragile mental state, but let's continue to ignore it :unamused:

It's the generation mate … Soft in the head !
Unfortunately we've ended up with the worst of that generation when it comes to NRL players .

So it would seem.

It's been evident in each game this season. Really shocking tbh. Marcus Kain, or whoever was in charge, needs to go.
That said, the damage is largely done.

Not just mental stability but intelligence too.
We've got some really dumb players.

It's starting to show that there has been significantly more focus put ito S&C and a slow down on cardio. Must be difficult to find that balance. They'd want to find it soon.

But what about the Footy Whisperer..maybe he needs to shout..

They are mentally lazy way too much pampering and escuses given by the coaching staff for when we lose. Its about time a coach in post press conference comes out and says we are not good enough in these areas. Every week we lost because this and that. Time for TOUGH LOVE…... we have to watch the rubbish week in week out. Next player that comes out and says we were good for 60 mins should be sacked....

I know they do a lot of gym work so they can build their physiques…..Make a compulsory road run every weds night of about 15/20 kms...build their stamina and lung capacity, not just muscle...

just my opinion,it certainly helped me when I was playing......

Footy whisperer …lmao
Mr Squiggle would be more effective with this mob .

Tim Grant needs to be shown the door. That's atleast twice he has been caught being fatigued in the middle which has lead to game changing tries. Horrendous player.

Ava needs to get more game time. Always plays well

Take a look at the replays from Sunday again, Grant gets beaten 1-1 step but it's ET and Sue who are caught bludging.

You're not drawing a very good picture for the new Coach…

Gus GOULD on the sixth tackle, which is also on the official WTs website, confirms what many of us have suspected all along this year so far..He is harsh on the team because he says they are not fit enough for the NRL,their capitulation in the second half of the last three rounds tells him they definately are not fit for 80 mins of football..
Why then is an NRL team full of highly paid players, not conditioned and presented to the members and supporters to an NRL standard to compete against other teams in the same competition…
I dont know if you blame the coach or the highly respected S&C staff,is this why JT has been sacked amongst other things or is our team being treated softly in fear we may lose them, either way if for example they go to another club and cant do the training and conditioning then they may find that they will end up in ISP cup..another serious side effect of not being fully fit for the rigours of the NRL is that injuries would occur more frequently if your not fit,and we do not have the depth to cover say 3/4 injuries all at once....this is very dissapointing to me because these players who represent our club are supposed to be proffessional footballers demanding big money, yet cant get themselves to a competative level of fittness in one of the most demanding and tough sports in the world..

Yep that's the majority of the issue Hobbo

Usually if you are mentally not strong you will be physically weak when it comes to the crunch

I'd just be happy with 17 fit players who didn't know what giving up was about

And mate as you know,if your not fit you soon give up because you cant keep up with the pace…the brain says run but the legs dont move...both you and Hobbo are right,to play the NRL game you have to be mentally and physically fit, your thinking all the time and your moving all the time ...I didnt have the luxury of a sports pscychologist, wouldnt have helped anyway( getting in before the rest of you blokes),BUT THESE GUYS HAVE EVERYTHING AVAILABLE TO THEM TO BE SUCCESSFUL,not being fit at the start of an NRL season is completely unacceptable and it shows in their performances...

And what makes it worse TT is a bet if we were to read back players from the club will be commenting on how it was the toughest pre season training ever :unamused:

As I said our goal at the start of the season should have been to be the fittest club in the NRL

And looks like we might be the worst running around

Absolutlely 100 percent correct…JT got sacked for underperforming, maybe some others in the place should go as well...

Here's an article version of the podcast TT mentioned above.

http://wwos.nine.com.au/2017/03/29/12/23/channel-nines-phil-gould-says-wests-tigers-are-struggling-because-theyre-unfit

Really is a sad indictment on JT and his staff. Not sure what happened over the summer, but our guys are well short of the other sides (and where we've been in previous years).
