Flat Earth. Question for free thinkers of the forum....

I have a better question

53 years ago it took Man 76 hours ( 3 days and 4 hours for you @hobbo1 ) to travel 384 399 kms to land on the Moon

53 years later it is going to take 7 to 10 working days to get my new airconditoner from Sydney to Gladstone .....and I'm not asking Neil Armstrong to personally deliver it and think of some catchy delivery slogan either

Perhaps understanding of quantum physics may help here, you know Schrodinger and cats 😉. That time distortion may be due to the time/mass distortion close to black holes😵
You may be onto something, as my own anecdotal observations support yours! The time window for a delivery of staff is always unreasonably extended - and voila a black hole hypothesis!🙁

Same with banks it took them 1 second to take the money I needed to pay to get my insurance claim ....3-5 days to pay the claim ....I see a theme repeating

They never went to the moon 53 years ago read up on the Van allen radiation belt they would have been fried extra well done and it's actually a very large dose not the bs they spin these days about low dose since people are learning about it

@TrueTiger
Do you think there's an edge to the earth... Is it raised like a pool so the ocean doesn't spill over?
Strange how that "moon" is a sphere
I have said earlier that I was taught that the Earth is a globe and still think as such...the flat earth theory tells us that there is an ice wall around the earth and we are in a dome,,,I have no idea because I havent seen the ice walls or been to the Arctic or Antartica ... I can only go by what I was taught and do some research ...if you can believe it ,,,,

Not good with global warming and all😏

Seeing this is the preseason and we can discuss many different topics,I thought I would raise a question that has me doubting some things that we were taught at school...For some people the earth is flat,I was taught we are on a globe, everywhere I went in school there was a globe of the world as we were taught..
This type of thing has me questioning a lot of the science we were taught, this brings me to the question I would like some people to think about..
If the moon is 400,000 km from earth, how come we can see it clearly as if it is just overhead and why sometimes we see clouds infront and at the back of the moon ?
I cant see a huge mountain 50 km away so why can I see an object 400,000 km away...it must be absolutely massive,it shouldnt even be a speck at that distance...
Feel free to inject some good sensible answers and civil conversation...cheers people...👍
So your a flat earth kind of guy you should read up on the radiation disputation between the stars and how it's evenly spaced or spread out it's to do with the big bang and just a few weeks ago the James Webb telescope provided the big bang did not happen

Also I love the information on flight paths and the flat earth it's very interesting along with the compass and the light houses at sea and the plants curve my mate is a flat earth guy and I get sent heaps of things I will try to find a video he sent me it ask good questions it's always interesting to hear other people's opinions

Ask a Flat Earther to produce a model. They cant and wont. It fails immediately as the burden of proof is upon them to claim a positive against an established fact. All they do is try to poke holes in the Globe model, tells you everything you need to know about the FE position.
There is a model this is how my interest peaked Antarctica is in the middle and the continents around it and if you look at the flight paths it is very interesting from Sydney to say Lima Peru the way you fly you can not go in a straight line you must pivot but can fly to London non stop or to Hawaii

Also another is the way water works you can not explain how the ocean is flat down the local beach on a globe but you can with a flat earth it's the centre of gravity try spinning water doesn't hold a flat line it's the same reason you use a water level on a building site

So if I start thinking differently and researching isnt this free thinking and analysing what the differing arguments are to find a solution?

Sounds good but you have to have some standards or principles so that you don't get played. I try and read books or scientific papers or something like that.

I also try and read differing viewpoints. We were discussing Jordan Peterson on the politics thread. I read his books but then went out and sought differing viewpoints.

You need in depth details from trusted sources and even then you need to try and read alternative viewpoints.

My problem is that theories like the flat earth theory are clearly false and science can prove this wrong. There may be scientific papers that are peer reviewed that state the earth is flat but there will be a tonne more research that disproves that theory.

I read this book recently as well. It's freaken fantastic but you can even tell from the heading that it's good to have some doubt.

I thought the Earth was carried around the solar system on the back of a Giant Turtle and NASA photoshopped the turtle out of all the photographs.
I read it in a book somewhere so it must be right

Discworld.

The world is flat, and resting on the backs of four elephants who, in turn, stand upon the back of a giant, space-faring turtle.

When did you find Jordan? Amazing Man also Gabor Maté and Thomas Sowell.

Thomas Sowell will blow your socks off listen to him talking about Africa Americans in the 1960's and the democrats and what the democrats in general have done to Africa Americans is evil great man to listen to and would love to meet him in person
