If you guys are ever in Taree area let me recommend two very good restaurants.
Sailos Taree Aquatic Club right offv the main drag on the beautiful Manning River for both good value for money without sacrificing quality.
During lunch, or an early Summer morning you are overlooking the stunning Manning River.
You could always have a family or group dinner while competing in the weekly Trivia Contest every Wednesday.
There's also daily specials on the menu.
About 20k North of Taree (or 9k West of Coopernook) take the Airport turn off for a rather scenic drive across some beautiful country side and cross the rail line three times to the sleepy little village of Lansdowne.
Most nights you can enjoy the best Chinese in the Taree/Harrington area at the Lansdowne Bowling & Recreation Club in the formerly Lismore based Southside Asian Cuisine.
The club is a very small community club, so it hasn't really had the money to upgrade, it is rather dated and could dearly use a nice big government grant but the great views of the nearby escarpment and the exceptional food make up for that, They also do take away that you can ring ahead and pre order.
They both can be busy on the odd day but Lansdowne is usually a little quieter unless there's something on or the locals (usually harmless/occasionally loud)😆😆 party a little too hard.
It's a good idea to ring ahead & make a booking as open days/hours can and do vary.

I missed the old Jansons Pies they used to sell at Lidcombe Oval when Rick Wayde was running the show my mate & I would get in for free by helpimg put all the A frame signage on the field and sponsors flags up one of the flagpoles, including the Jansons Pies flag.
I'd get the odd free Jansons Pie from the tucker caravan and Rick would sometimes shout one for my friend and I.
However about halfway through reserves we'd get a pass out to buy a hotdog from my mate's uncle Steve just outside the main gate for a top up before he sold them all, sometimes I'd even buy a second. They were the best fresh footy day hotdogs only the self serve hotdogs (when fresh not a left over from the day before 😂) at Mobil Quix servos come anywhere near as good.

Talking about pies, if you ever come to the Mid Nth Coast around Taree, Port Macquarie and Wauchope keep an eye out for Timbertown Pies if you want a quick tasty packaged takeaway pie, sausage roll, pastie & more then I can't recommend Timbertown Pies enough.
They would be easily in the top best tasting, easily eaten (not messy) packaged pie & sausage roll varieties. I love their sausage rolls, they ain't mushy & they are great, I reckon even better without sauce.
You can also buy them cold or frozen in various quantities at IGA stores & other retail outlets in the area.
Some clubs & pubs in the region stock them behind the bar.
