Footy time!

Yeah just about to head out to the TV room, been listening to CD's for a couple of hours instead of the usual radio so I didn't get to accidentally hear the progress scores!.

How about the anthems, camera on Tamou and not one word of Advance Australia Fair was sung, flash to God Defend NZ and the camera goes to Nathan Fien, mouth firmly shut although he had a go at the Haka!.

Josh Hoffman had a real good game Isaac Luke tried hard as usual

The big 4 got the Aussies home Slater ,Thurston, Cronk and Smith

Benji will be having nightmares about Davatar tonight

Add Lewis to that Happy, he was electric.

Benji wasn't that bad, would have been hailed a hero is his pass to Vatuvei stuck in the opening stanza. Johnson shut him out of the game a fair bit.

Interesting to see that Benji continued on from the last 20 mins against the Pamfers last week and was kicking deep for touch when the game was in the balance (yes, I am also aware he fluffed a 40/20 attempt by shanking it off the outside of his boot.)

Loved Slater's quip to the ref when he got binned "As long as you're consistent…"

I know Benji relies on some off the cuff football at times , but when he plays behind a side he doesn't know he really struggles lacks a lot of vision

And I just don't like it when he is a skipper I think it really stifles his game

Was a very physical and entertaining test match.
Big game from all our forwards and of course the big 4.
Benji again was disappointing at this level. I dont know what it is…he is the sort of player who should shine in the test arena. He only ever has done so once.

Lastly....HOW GOOD DID ALL THOSE QUEENSLANDERS GO? :righton: Fair dinkum the blues better watch out because in this form these blokes will set records this origin series.

It was a great game - only marred for me by the appalling referee decision to award Australia a penalty when Inglis failed to play the ball correctly. I bang on about these types of penalties all the time. If you dont see clearly what has happened how can you blow a penalty? There wasnt a hint of interference from a Kiwi in that play the ball yet the officials see a loose ball, panic and penalise. In my opinion that was a crucial turning point in the game - and it went the wrong way.

It is the same with 90% of the stripping penalties that are blown.

Youre wrong…dont listen to Gus.
You need to watch more closely.
Fien ( I think it was....or maybe Nightingale) had hold of Inglis' foot just as he was about to play it, the same foot he was going to play the ball with, so of course he lost his footing, balance.
It seems the touchie tipped him.
Correct decision.

I am constantly perplexed as to how Nathan Fien keeps getting picked.

He is barely an NRL standard player

Hard to disagree with that… St George have a habit of making them better than what they are (Fien, Young, Hornby...)
