Forum Reputation Points

Thanks for clearing that up Spartan. You'll understand the confusion from posters like Happy, GNR, and myself on these things. People just disappear - if there was some notification of this I missed it. Hence there is a semi-serious side to my earlier post and if posters are being banned (I assume it's a fairly rare event) this could be mentioned in the site issues area with maybe a broad explanation of why (I realise it is probably not in anyone's interest to get too specific). That would make it:

a) transparent
b) everyone knows what has happened
c) act as a warning to forum members as to the consequences on behaviour against forum rules.

Just a thought anyway and thanks again for the clarification.

Yes, great idea! For what it's worth, I will miss Alien (perhaps I'm the only one who will though lol). Is he banned forever or just a while? I have no idea how these things work.

You've made an interseting post Yoss
The mods have been chatting about it as your idea does have some merit.

In saying that, there have only been a handful of people banned (half a dozen maybe) and it has almost always been for serious rule violations, like threatening another user.

It is really very rare that we ever ban anyone. I know how attached people get to this place and to the community here. If I was banned I'd be mightly depressed so with that in mind it takes a lot to have someone banned.

FTR - i've advertised everyone that i've banned (not by name) in the Rules thread. Feel free to check it out.

Yeah it is a brilliant idea Yoss But the follow up question Was Alien banned for life ??

Well I hope he is Ok anyway he seemed a good bloke A touch odd but decent enough fella

Alien banned!! Wow I can only assume for something pretty serious. I met him at the Tigers v NZ game as I wanted to introduce myself and meet him as he is one of the most passionate tigers supporters I know. His a really nice guy and I'm disappointed he can no longer contribute to the forum. Hopefully he can be allowed to join again guys or at least was warned and given a chance not to re violate.

Hey I don't know if anyone has made this mistake before but I just accidently neg repped someone instead of pos repping them Would it be an idea to maybe move the buttons further apart or have a pop up warning message first making sure you want to pos or neg rep anyone ??Just an idea (Or maybe Happy should just get some glasses )
 
Yeah I did that a couple of times at the start and am a bit more careful these days! Actually I was more trying to click on the boxes that had a list of who had repped them and hit the red box.
I had to send a few PM to apologise and positive repped them later on to make up for it!!

Why am I not allowed to give out rep points?

I get this error "You dont have reputation power so you cant give reputation to over for now"

Thanks Yoss it finally worked but came up as a pop up screen once i had closed it down Never done that before
