Hopefully all you guys and girls have noticed something new floating around various area's of the website. We are proud to announce a brand spanking new feature to the website call "Forum Reputation". The concept isn't new by any means, there are many forums which feature what's typically called 'Karma' modifications and the likes. But for those who are not familiar, the system is one which allows the community to reward users for their contributions to the website.
The system we've just introduced work in what we believe is a fair way, however we would love to get your feedback over the next week or so. This way we can properly refine and fine tune everything.
There are 2 key parts.
Reputation Points and Reputation Power… sounds interesting doesn't it!
**Reputation Points**
These are given to you by other users, based on your contributions to the website/forums. If someone posts a killer post or engages in discussion you find pleasing, you can reward them with positive rep. Alternatively, if you do not like the way someone is carrying themselves, you can give them 'negative' rep. **Please note, disagreeing with someone is no reason to give negative rep.**
**Reputation Power**
This is unique to every user on here and determined using a variety of means, one of which is their own Reputation points... This acts as a multiplier when giving someone rep. Essentially Rep Power is generated automatically and not dished out manually based on how long they have been a member, rep points and posts.
You can review your Rep Power and Points by viewing your forum profile.
**<big>To start some fun, I am offering +30pts to the user who can suggest a 'ranking' scheme (I need 10) for this. Please post your suggestions in the thread below. So you get a ranking of "A" for a rep of 0-100, "B" for 101 - 200 and so on</big>.**
So there you have it! Have fun with it guys and girls. Please use this constructively guys and lets have some fun with it!
