I like the idea if people DONT give out negatives just because they disagree with the post.

They're not suppose to. The idea is to give negative points to posts that the voters considers dumb or of poor quality. Just because you disagree with the content is not suppose to be a reason to give thumbs down.

Like someone who laughs at their own jokes or applauds themselves, there is something a little bit sad about people who like their own posts on Facebook!

I think there should be a provision for banning forum members from consistently giving negative rep points to the same posters. Nearly all my negatives have come from one person who often doesn't even bother to reply to my post in the thread. If you don't like what I'm saying at least tell me why!

I think banning would be a bit harsh, however **anyone found 'abusing' the system to positively or negatively impact a users rating will have their permissions to use this feature revoked**.

Any members who believe this is occuring, please contact a mod or admin via PM only and we will address the issue.

Got the same thing from the same user. One I suspect was a retaliation neg rep. (I admit I gave neg rep for the user comparing someone to a terrorist because of a beard!)

I was never a good boy anyway so i dont care but i know who your talking about its alien….grow a set.....hes done the same thing with me 5 or 6 times but he never has the gumption to say anything.I better watch it now hes a ninja turtle....lol....my little 6 yr old likes them.

He gets me all the time aswell. The funny thing he says he doesn't care about the points, yet there seems to be a pattern of him giving a thumbs down to everyone he disagrees with. He also strikes me as the kind of guy who will give neg rep points to someone who has given them to him for the sole purpose of getting some kind of revenge.As far as the Ninja Turtle thing goes, I'd be more concerned about those red and blue Aliens he was talking about :unamused:
he might even get that dork UFO Phil on you aswell :crazy

I also have gotten alot of neg. rep. points for posts that I shouldn't have but I guess that's alright isn't it. Some people like to give it but can't take it and then cry about it on here. I also laugh at the little weak cheap shots that some people have been giving lately.

You telling me to grow a set or Alien? Anyway it's not a personal gripe on my part, just trying to improve the whole rep point system so that it actually does what is sets out to do. It's a bit pointless having 90% of people using it properly if a few people dish out the red thumbs like hash brownies at a Greens conference. If someone is giving out 10 down thumbs for every thumbs up it throws the whole thing out of whack.

Well ignore it then - it's that simple. It wasn't meant to be serious. I saw it and thought it was funny, but then some people like to make cheap attacks against me on a forum. If anyone doesn't want to read what I write there's a thing in your settings where you can make it so you can't read what I write. That way I wont have to hear from idiots nitpicking about things I write, and what I have as my avatar.
