Can't expect much more until the cap figure is made official for the 2018 season

Geez i hope we are seriously making a strong play for Brenton Lawrence, he would be a great signing for 2 years. Speed, power, aggressiveness and a strong work ethic would fit our MO for forwards perfectly. By the time his 2 year stint is over players like Morgan Boyle etc would have already shown whether they are 1st grade material or not. Then we can look at signing Boyle or another longer-term up and comer. Get a proven performer in here first to lead the way for our youngsters.

Yes, agree with this. Very strong work ethic. Very good front on defender as well.

Awww …. just be patient.
Whats the rush in filling out our roster.
We would all be bored stiff.

Na get it done now. Game of thrones starts next week so that will take up my discussion time 😂😂

Clubs have been signing players to contracts for 2018 and beyond for the last few years. I still don't understand how we can be 6-7 months out from the season starting and not have any idea what the salary cap will be. That to me seems totally unprofessional.

Not the club's fault this time.
This one is on the useless knobs running the NRL and to a lesser extent the RLPA.

I actually don't think the salary cap issue would be a problem if there was a free agency period set by the NRL. The off-season is quite long in the NRL (much too long for us fans) and if there was a two month period where signings could be made official and contracts signed for the following season then we wouldn't have this problem.

No one forced Penrith or the Raiders to sign all these guys to contracts totalling 10 million. Those clubs assumed/hoped that's what the cap would be. They should now be trying to find more TPAs to cover themselves if the cap is lower than expected.

I think any changes to players contracts have to be approved by the NRL, same as when WT altered Chris Lawrence's contract.
They might not be so accommodating just because some clubs tried to sign all the top players.
It might be their way of trying to create a more level playing field, if only Greenberg had enough courage to stand up to Nick and Ray Dibbs and co.

Remember after 2005, when we signed Ryan O'Hara to give us "size" up front? It was going to solve all our problems.

Skandalis, Gibbs, laffranchi, Payten wasn't a bad pack. Gibbs very underrated

Jason Cayless was another top signing

Was close to being the best prop in the game at one stage, just not when we signed him  As usual we sign the decent, well known players once they're well past their use by date. Probably done it again now with McQueen.

Gibbs was overhyped, was suppose to be the net Blocker Roach. and he had a lot of DUMB plays that cost us close games.

as for the others we had a very very small pack in 2005, we won the comp that year because of our halves and quick play the balls, 2006 the storm ruined and changed the game and created wrestling tatics something this club has never learned how to cope with since and why we have cream puff forwards year after year.

Yeah don't remind me of O Hara was suppose to replace Laffranchi Skando had to come back out of retirement.

Ellis was our best forward, Galloway was ok but forever and FOREVER injured.

If Ivan can convince 2 or 3 of these guys to board the bus then WT would have a really good pack.
Morgan Boyle, Corey Jensen, Kurt Dillon, Joe Ofahengaue, Agnatius Paasi & Zane Tetevano.

No. Not Tetevano. I have enough trouble with Packer joining, I don't want that wife bashing piece of crap at the club I love. We need standards and Tetevano is someone who beat his partner 4 times.

I never knew that.

In that case I don't want him at the club.

The other players on the list look great
