Foundations For a Very, Very Great Team

The dynasty is well under way 😛ray:

Have a look at our props and you have the number one prop in the game in Woodsy, Big Keithy, the potential of Lodge and the reliability of Ava and you have yourself a world class front row to match it with any other in the NRL.

I'm more excited about Lamar Liolevavae then any of our other potential superstars, bar Teddy. From what I've seen from him so far, he could be our Taumololo once he matures and gains some much needed experience. Combine that with Siro and Taupau in the back row and we could have a devastating back row in the years to come.

That truly would be a devastating pack.

That doesn't even take into consideration the potential to have our very own big 4 in the most important positions on the field (the spine). We all saw what Brooksy can do in his very first game in FG, now its just being able to do it consistently with a settled team around him and a better attacking structure.

In the eyes of one of the greatest ever halves (Peter Sterling): "Mitchell Moses will be a real star. “As a footballer, he’s the one.” Now for me that's enough to keep me buzzing until our next match.

Then we have Teddy. We all know what he is destined for, provided the injury Gods grant him some luck.

That leaves us with the hooker position, which will be occupied by Robbie for another 2.5 years. In that time we can only hope he continues to lead by example on the field and guide our youngsters along, until another potential superstar is ready to fill his shoes. By then, Brooksy and Moses will hopefully have complete control of the team and Manaia will just have to do his job, despite his ability to cause havoc and be our Issac Luke style player.

That there could be our very own big 4, to take advantage of the platform set out by a devastating forward pack. We also have quality players to feed out wide in Simona, Nofo and Naqiama

The way i see it, we have two challenges in winning a premiership: Injuries and Salary Cap.

I hope, Mayer has some third party agreements lined up because come 2017 and beyond, we're going to need them. Hopefully Harry can help 😛ray:

Go the Tigers :sign:

Yes the future is looking very bright indeed. It almost makes all those years of watching and suffering small, plodding forwards, inept halves and slow, ageing backs worth it

I'm a big fan of Liolevave as well, can't wait to see him in First Grade. I also see a bit of Taumololo in him. I believe he can become anything.

Taumalolo would have to be 12-15 kgs heavier

Future looks bright, that's for sure.

We said that at the start of 2005 as well.

Look what happened that year.

From the official Wests Tigers and Cowboys websites:
\
\
Lamar Liolevavae
Date of Birth:01-12-1995
Height:185cm
Weight:112kg
Position:Second Row

Jason Taumololo
Date of Birth:30-05-1993
Height:191
Weight:113
Position:Second Row

Jason has two years on Lio as well..

Good post Tony. Feeling like I did back in the mid eighties as a Balmain supporter, with a bunch of real good youngsters coming through in a staggered fashion. Good times ahead, especially as we have a good front row, with Lodge still improving and here for another year after Keefy probably finishes up at the end of next year.

There all here for at least another 2 years after this one. We need to start extending contracts next year, we don't want a manly situation…

I definitely think we will lose Te Maire Martin.
He is off contract this year and next year he will be ineligible for U20's and too good for NSW Cup.

Hopefully we won't, especially with Cherrington, LA and a few of the keebra boys staying. Tiger's won'e be able to keep Cherrington/Liddle in the long term.

Too much credit given to Sheens in my opinion.
Some of these guys were too young for him to have had anything to do with them.
This is the third year without him as well.

There have been a few on here saying how good Moses is going to be…..
Has been taken to task about his defence etc...

Stirlo comes out and puts his seal of approval on him and now everyone thinks he is going to be terrific. You don't need Stirlo to tell you how good he is = believe your own eyes. He is going to be a Champion of the highest order.

Good post - it is all before us, all we have to do is be patient.

Sheens left a legacy like it or not…the junior pathways system is his...if he didnt do it someone wouldve had to...he's a perfect fit for the job though being a Penrith jnr himself rising thru the ranks to do nearly everything in the game

Is he a possibility to play centre? I haven't seen enough to judge.

Ive liked what ive seen but i really havent seen him play enough to put a tag on him. One thing i do know though and its a very important thing is that he has an x factor about him. He has a magnetism and just goes about his way that makes people take notice.

Based on that i expect big big things.

I think he'd be a good centre but he would be wasted there.
His ball playing skills are fantastic. Much in line with Shaun Johnson.

Some centres are like a 2nd 5/8\. Look at how Jamie Lyon plays. He can run and pass at speed. He has given the Manly backline so many options over the years. Plus he can go into the halves if needed

Look how close we got to nearly losing Teddy.
Losing Teddy would've been devastating.
